professor shroff is the best professor i've had in asianam. she's so caring and so insightful that i really learned so much in the 10 weeks. even though it was an upper div, she made it a point to learn all of the class' names and to encourage discourse within the class. 10/10

WOW! Professor Shroff is incredibly intelligent, forward-thinking, and will get you to critically think! Her lectures (as well as film choices) are incredibly eye-opening and engaging. Her classes honestly not only helped me to grow academically and intellectually, but also helped me to grow as a person!

I really, really enjoyed this class. We watched a lot of interesting films and had very good discussions on the readings and movies and she also gives great feedback if you're struggling with your paper. The workload wasn't overwhelming and the papers were straightfoward. Also gives a paper as a final which is great. Definitely would take her again

She talks about real issues and expands our minds with her lectures. As long as you take notes and keep up with her readings, you will go far in this class. She uses many videos as references and has in depth talks about human nature and the obstacles that immigrants face. She enjoys alternate perspectives & is very open.

Took South Asian American class with her, she mumbles but she's really nice. our class was small so she was able to know everybody by the 3rd week.she threw the midterm and final out the window and made it an all essay class. Her grading isn't difficult either, manage to get a B+ and my english isn't so good, and all my papers were single drafts

She is very strict on attendance and expects everyone to come on time to every class. She scolds you if try to leave even a few minutes early. The class was interesting, but she was kind of grouchy at times. Must buy the course reader, because you will need it to supplement your term papers.

amazing woman! I took an Asian American film class as well as a South East Asian lit class with her. Work hard, and she'll reward you accordingly. 90% of the texts are amazing reads, she gets you to think critically and even write better. Because she was such an attentive, helpful instructor I was a better student! highly reccomended!

I took her South Asian Lit class, as well as her Asian American film class and loved both of them. Her lectures are insightful and make you think about the ideas in a larger context. She keeps it interesting, even during long lecture hours with humor, wit and wisdom. Definately approachable, but strict on attendance, so go to class!!!

She is a very wise woman who is interesting to listen to and talk with (if you can, discuss anything with her). Her reading list was very enjoyable, which made lectures more interesting. She is very knowledgable in subject area. Very approachable and helps in any way she can. She is very passionate about the subject areas. The essays were decent as long as you kept up with lecture, the films and the readings. Her lectures may seem intimidating but they are really great and engaging. I had fun in this class, it was enlightening.

She's a very insightful professor. I've taken two of her classes - both of which are very interesting and they certainly met my expectations for college courses.
