had him last sem, not very interesting, tough grader, & awful prompt maker. that said expos is a bad class to start off with its not all his fault. I couldnt get higher then a C+ all semester & then i wrote 10pgs got a B+ and wound up with a B. he lets you hand stuff in late ALL the time, lax on attendance over all it works out, boring but easyish

nice but very confusing and boring He could never engage our class I think the whole class spoke 5 times in the semester. But he lets you rewrite papers & hand them in whenever but be warned the only way i managed a B was to write 10+ page papers & there were only 4ish of us who got Bs he is nice but boring and tough i would switch out if you can

Professor Allen is cool & very helpful. He is a really difficult grader. Very very very few people even got Bs on their papers. He talks fast & comes up with ideas that freshmen wouldn't. He is nice though & lenient with attendance.

I had him last sem. and I got a B in expos. He is very helpful if you go to his office hrs. I couldn't write to save my life and he helped me with ideas. Your best bet is to go to office hrs if you don't understand what's going on in class, he is real nice. He tends to ramble alot too. OFFICE HRS key to succeeding in this class

tries to teach in an understandable manner but usually dosent succeed. attemps to give advice on papers but is very vague. i dont think its his fault though because this class is hard and he just follows the book verbatum. hes a nice person though. always willing to help

He is really smart and knows what he's talking about. For people who say that he's confusing, well philosophy is a confusing subject and Prof. Allen does really well in teaching it. If you don't understand, then philosophy just isn't for you.

i agree with the other person, everyone here is an idiot. this guy knows so damn much. if you want to learn about the greeks, hes great. the fact that he is so thorough is admirable for a person of his age. these other people are just bitter.
