Comment:

Dr. Collins is a quirky professor who is clearly passionate towards what he teaches. Homework is assigned daily, with worksheets due every week. There are also daily videos to watch before class to help prepare you for the lesson that day. I thought this was a good way to prepare students for class and help them understand the concept.

Comment:

This class was inverted. You go to class and will work in a group of 4. You have 2 Q's to answer by the end of the period, the rest is HW. Whatever you don't finish in class is HW. Most people get mostly done by the end of the period. End of the HW is all review from previous chapters. Honestly, the best math professor I have ever had. Watch vids.

Comment:

Collins is prolly one of the worst graders in this school. One simple mistake such as a sign error and you loose 4 pts right off the bat. Funny thing is sometimes he would make the same mistakes as for what he marks off for on the exams during lecture. Overall not impressed did not seem like a professional. Would not recommend

Comment:

Professor Collins is exactly what you would expect out of a traditional professor with homework. Daily book homework with weekly worksheets. Videos outside class are only vital to the "Question of the Day" as he lecture will review the video and provide examples. If you do the homework, the test will feel like another homework assignment

I was scared at first, it being flipped and watching lectures outside of class and doing examples in class. But it was amazing. I loved coming to class, he was very understanding with questions and would always help. Would highly recommend

I took professor Collins for pre-calculus last semester and unless you are ready for mountains of homework I would avoid this professor at all costs. Homework every night, due the next day. Exams are graded very harshly- a minimal mistake such as missing +/- sign is a 4 point deduction automatically. If work is not flawless be ready to lose points.

No in class lectures. All of his teaching is done with prerecorded videos that he posts online. In class you work in groups of 4 on a few problems then have the rest of class to work on your daily homework.

Took him for precalc. Had homework everyday for the most part but wasn't impossible to do. He had office hours everyday, but you could swing by at any time. His grading can be tough, but if you do the work right you will be fine. He can make math enjoyable. Defiantly recommend him.

LOTS OF HOMEWORK. Entire class is taught online, which is bitter sweet as you can watch the videos however many times you want, but if you have a question, ur SOL. Did I mention LOTS OF HOMEWORK? Expect to spend 3 Hours a day toward the end of semester just on the homework. (Not including required videos that can last upwards of 1/2 hour total.

He makes you watch videos insisting that it helps you learn which it doesn't, doesn't actually teach anything just walks around class. I would not take his class again ever

Probably the worst professor I've had in my college career. Class size was big and he never stopped to answer questions. Made many mistakes during lectures, and wasn't much help during office hours. Would rather wait a semester for a new opening professor than take him again.

I liked the fact that he gave us note outlines for each class. The class is very fast paced, doing a new lesson everyday.. His tests are also very difficult. I passed precalc in high school with a 91% and i only got a 61% in his class. He is a very tough grader and it is graded on a 12 point scale and if you do one thing wrong you get 4 points off.

His lecture outlines are fantastic and they are very easy to be able to go back to and study from. He goes over everything you need to know for the homework in class and he asks if anyone has any questions after every topic. I highly recommend and would take again

He is willing to help anytime, and will outline what he wants you to write on the board. He hands out lecture outlines that make it easy to follow along, and is more than willing to explain. He does give about an hour of homework everyday, and another hour long worksheet each week. Fair grader. Truly loves his job.

he doesn't teach in class and makes you watch videos that doesn't even work which ends up reading the book. Very tough grader. He doesn't do much in class but walks around and helps others in need but is way too broad.. Take someone else

Although he made his class seem easy at the beginning, it was awful! He required us to type papers that he graded harshly based on directions out of the book that were confusing. What Math teacher requires you write papers anyways? Did not learn anything from his class that I can use. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
