Dr. Henin didn't seem to want to teach the class I took. He was often late, disinterested, and really just read off his slides. I didn't really need to attend the class to get an easy A. All of the practice questions he gave us were the midterm questions, making studying easy but I didn't learn anything from the course in general.

Henin's monotone voice made it hard to pay attention in class. You needed to go every day though to fill in the blanks on the notes he'd post online. Notes were very helpful, but still read the text book. Write as much as you can on the 2 midterm and final exams. I kept losing marks for not writing far enough in depth.

Henin was a nice guy who made what should be a interesting course dull. I found it hard to stay awake (he even dims the lights for his PowerPoint notes). Despite being boring, he was great at uploading the notes before lecture so you can just add more info when you're in class. His exams were good, read the notes! He also has a heavy french accent.

Good course, relatively easy. All notes are online which is super helpful. Tests are fair, but beware, he uses TAs for marking and doesn't always double-check, so if your marks seem low, make sure you let him know.

Not a bad prof. You can make good grades, even if you don't attend class. He is understanding of schedule conflicts and is willing to bend a bit. Vast knowledge of Southeast Asia, though periodically gets off on a tangent that doesn't come back for ten minutes or so. Lots of supporting material.

In response to the last comment, I'm not really sure how you can say that you don't understand the previous comments, specifically, the part about the presentations being amateur, when you comment how much of a breeze it was to throw one together. Dr.Henin is great and that is precisely why I stated that I'd much prefer to hear from him!

I have no idea what the last couple comments are complaining about. Bernard is an awesome guy and has tons of interesting stories. He marks really fair, and breaks up the midterm/final into three 20% tests. If you go to him, he'll help you big time. A's are definitely attainable if you study. Presentations were a breeze.

Bernard is decent, but not great. I hate the class presentations, they are pretty armature and they take away from the depth of the subject matter. He is not very approachable and his courses are repetitive. I'd like to see him expand the lecture material.

I really like Henin. Yes, you can do well in his classes even if you don't go often (he gives a list of possible essay questions before the exam and there's NO cumulative), but the more you put into it the more you'll get out of it. He's very knowledgable, has a good sense of humour and well, let's face it, is kind of a fox!

Henin is awesome, I totally reccomend him as a prof. He is fun and cool and makes class interesting. I liked the course content as well, he posts his lectures online, but important to go to class because he shows videos and adds material to his lectures. Muliple choice on exams is hard but the written is much easier. Overall I give Henin an A.

Love that accent! Content=boring, prof=awesome! He's a funny guy and loves interaction with the class, even if it means telling bad Jay Leno jokes. tee hee. You can tell he is a ladies man too!

Found that his courses were strikingly similar even though they focused on different parts fo the world, kinda felt like it was deja vu! Also had him as a lab instuctor for stats, horrid class, would have failed if not for him giving us the answers!
