She was alright. The content was interesting and she seemed to really be passionate about film, but sometimes her jokes were uncomfortable and acted a bit awkward. She tore one of my essays apart harder than any English professor I've had, and seems to be very set in both her opinions and views. Quizzes had trick questions too, which is never fun.

This is probably one of the hardest Art History classes I have ever taken. The information is extremely interesting but when you're too worried about cramming for an exam where you're expected to know 45+ photos, photographers and mediums only for 5 to be on the exam. The rest are short answers almost expecting paraphrases out of the reading...

Probably one of the toughest graders I've had. The whole class is ready and the conversations about the readings. She will give you horrible grades on everything unless you spend around 20 hours writing everything. Don't take a class with her unless you like putting in 3x the amount of work for probably a worse grade

Disrespectful, Unreliable, Unprofessional, Close-Minded, Stubborn I am interested in the course material and enjoyed the films and readings thoroughly. Unfortunately, this teacher is close-minded and stubborn, a fatal combination for any educator. My advice to the school is to disassociate itself with her as soon as possible.

Beth is a good teacher. Lecture's are long but she's not boring. Also, this is important, the test are much simpler than some other Art History teachers. Beth's exams are clear and to the point. Most of the information you need is in the Powerpoints that she posts for you. Art History isn't easy but Beth makes it manageable.

If you are not that into film DO NOT take this class. She is very into films and their history and you will be lost if you are not as interested as she is. Readings and films must be watched before class in order to understand and do well on her HARD tests. Not recommended unless you are willing to put alot of work in!

I could tell from Day 1 that there was something I didn't like about Beth Wilson and I couldn't figure out what until she completely reamed Van Gogh enthusiasts. She loves for you to know how intelligent she is, and how much more she knows than anyone else. But her lectures are interesting enough. Art history tests are always hard--not her fault.

Class wasn't as horrible as I expected. Thought I was going to be falling asleep but she actually keeps it interesting and I didn't mind attending. Thought I was doing great until she slapped a C+ onto my research paper for no reason and dragged my grade down for the semester. Study for the tests and you'll do fine!

It's my first time decide to rate professor here because she is terribly enogh that I think people should really avoid taking her. She can ruin any of your aritistic interests and not anyway engaging the class anytime.

Knows her stuff, but often blows off questions. She doesn't give you the time of day. She will always go around 5 minutes overtime, gets annoyed when people are leaving when class is over. Needs to take the fact that people have back to back classes into consideration, and make sure she is finished lecturing when class is over.

Beth Wilson is one of my favorite professors I have ever had. She does expect you to read and engage in class discussion, but she makes it easy. Her passion for film as an art form was clear, and she made the students excited about it as well. And the film selections for the syllabus were GREAT. Get vetted in film, and take an interesting class.

Beth is great. She's extremely dry and sarcastic, which is perfect if that's the kind of attitude you like in a person. Her slideshows are spot on with her exams. The tests are hard, but if you take good notes and listen to what she finds important, you'll do fine.

I made the mistake of taking it again to fulfill my GE. There is an almost ridiculous amount of material and you must remember all of it for the tests even though she doesn't text you on at least half of it. I will say she definitely knows her stuff. Just too much of it. Attendance is a must, two points off for every class missed.

Beth definitely knows her stuff and there's a lot of material to grasp. The tests are very difficult and she says she doesn't want us to fail...but then takes points off for technicalities. Interesting class but would NOT recommend if you're looking to fill your art GE.

I LOVE HER!!!! She is great at what she does, made me switch my major to Art. His! The tests require that you study for a few days ahead of time, and the course as a whole is easier to understand if you have a background in art. But she's a great woman and i wish she taught more classes! About 4 tests and only 1 essay. no homework basically

This is my first Art History class and i have to say she is a tough teacher but as long as you study over a span of a couple days you should be good to go. Not all of the material shes gives you is on the test I'd say less then half of that is but Art History is about memorizing things people! If this is not your major i don't suggest taking this.

Beth's a pretty tough professor. The class was fairly difficult with a lot of material to grasp, and she tends to not be too clear about most of the topics she covers. If you ask her to explain something again, she will usually go over it, though. The workload isn't terrible, but the tests are very difficult.

Ahh Professor Wilson. Well for a general course this will kick your butt. If you do not plan on dedicating hours to memorizing paintings and pieces of art and the terms that go along with it then DO NOT take this class. She is a tough grader, but fair none the less.
