She is singlehandedly the worst teacher at sjsu. I am a 3.8 gpa student and I could not understand what she was lecturing about. She goes super fast and it is very unclear. I asked her for help on the format of the presentation and she is so RUDE. She scoffed me off and told me it was on canvas before dismissing me. DONT TAKE HER.

Absolute worst professor I've ever had at SJSU. For a one unit class she assigns way too much outside class work for a dance class. She also grades harshly for a beginners course. She tends to give rude and snappy comments as well. I have a relatively high GPA and received a not so good grade in this class which is disappointing. Do NOT take her.

This class is tough. She is super confusing and grades very harsh. Had a class project and nobody in the class did better than a C+. She expects you to become an expert in this topic. She is really excited when she teaches but half of it doesn't make sense. She is willing to help out if you mess up on a test. For the quizzes you are allowed twice.

I'm a Dean's list student (SJSU GPA: 3.79) and this is my first review as I normally don't do this. However, she is seriously that awful. Do not take her class under any circumstance. It questionable as to why she is allowed to be a faculty member. Completely subjective (unfair) grading, rude personality, and unapproachable. Her rating does not lie

She makes you work super hard for 1 unit Dance class. If you ask her any questions sometimes she'll just snap on you and get condescending. Took 1 class with her and it's more than enough. She can be nice and funny sometimes though so she's not terrible.

I don't know why people say she's good at giving feedback. If you email her with a question about the class, you're basically asking her to chew you out for not reading information provided. Questions about lectures? She repeats what she says in lecture. Basically don't ask her questions, it's pointless. Theres some EC that you can earn though.

A lot of information but she's willing to help. You just have to be willing to ask her. Gives plenty of time in lab to help students. This class is hard but you have to put in the effort to understand the material meaning don't skip class if you want a good grade. Project was pretty difficult so start that ASAP!! Understand concepts then youll pass

Yes her class was hard but she was more than willing to work with me even after I flunked the first exam. She inspired me to work harder and improve my grade, which I did. Thanks Doc for not giving up on me.

No. This professor will make you work too hard for 1 Unit. Not even worth a consideration. Classes like these should not be worth the level of effort needed to get an A. I also learned that throughout the semester, we didn't even learn all that many or interesting dance moves, meaning it's not even worth it if you're actually interested in dance.

terrible instructor, reviews matierial ridiculously fast, doesn't know that when someone asks to review a question it means explain not just read off what is there. Overloads students with work, I thought I was taking a masters class worth 10 units.

Took 175 F'12. Know some people who took it S'13. She took out one exam completely, so the class is easier. No book; buy the course reader (it's affordable) and take notes. Do labs and practice items. If you don't put in the time and effort, you won't get a good grade. Many don't do well because they don't pay attention or try.

Horrible instructor, She overloads students in class with irrelevant information. Then she offers sunday reviews at her home. That's the only way I was able to survive in this class. If she would have provided better instruction during class I wouldn't have had to spend Every weekend at her house! Tests are extremely, long, hard and skewed.

Dr. Shifflett is very helpful and is always happy to answer your questions and repeat things as many times as you want. She is however very hard. Her test questions are way harder than her practice tests. You have to study hard to get a good grade.

Dr. Shifflett is a very nice teacher and is knowledgeable. She always offers help and gets back to your questions quickly. But this class is way too hard for an undergraduate class and is very time consuming. Exams are very hard, so it requires A LOT of studying.

A master in measurement and evaluation but a poor instructor. Delivers test questions at the graduate and post-graduate level as "stretch" questions to undergrad students. Class is difficult to pass as her degree is in administering tests so expect very intricate tests. Passing rate is skewed, many students drop or quit by the second test.

Can not teach. Has no interpersonal skills. Sets up students to Fail. Has bad personal habits. Can not communicate. Does not know her subject. Hides her incompetence by attacking students. Do not take this or any class from her. We should all boycott. Maybe the Univesity should check to see if she is really a fake.

Consider taking HS167 Biostats and petition in lieu of this class. While any other statistics class would be more useful, at least a health focused one would be applicable. That's what I would do if I had the chance.

Did we discuss relevant statistics for our discipline, no, even though the class was entirely nurses save one! Did we review articles and tease out relevant data, no! Were the tests relevant to the nursing field, absolutely not! The project example, isn't, beware! She's toxic and unprofessional.
