Comment:

Enjoyed the course structure and instruction a lot. Prof Donald was very passionate about the material and as someone not in a Geography major, I found the course difficulty and time commitment to be very low. You can skim the readings and the quizzes are practically doable without any background knowledge. Tutorials were very interactive as well.

Comment:

I found Professor Donald to be extremely rude. On the first day she basically said that she didn't understand why half of the students were in the course. The expectations on the final assignment (worth 35% of the mark) were extremely unclear, and she would get mad if people asked for clarification.

As a civil engineering student, I was hoping this course would focus on the planning and layout of cities; however, this was more focused on socio-cultural aspects. There were required readings every week that take forever, and I forget what I just read one page after I read it.

AWFUL prof. 227 is a boring course and she is an incredibly boring speaker. her assignments are so dreadful, she could do something more inventive rather than an essay since the course is boring enough. she seems lazy, shes never prepared for lecture always cuts it short, doesnt reply to emails, and generally an awful prof. she should not teach!!

Betsy is a good prof (for GPHY227) as she's very interested in the topic, making the class easy to listen in. Relatively interesting class that isn't too difficult- just make sure you attend class and do readings before midterm/final!

Amazingly smart woman but needs to train her TAs better so that they mark according to HER standards and not some in her head. Not particularly interested in having in discussing questions or material etc etc. I purposely did not take her classes this year to avoid this problem.

inspiring prof. really wants the students to be interested and involved with the topic. Is not so much about evaluating what you DON'T know, but more focused on elaborating on what you DO know. Also, very very knowlegeable and creative with her subject: Urban Geography. Very cool course.
