This was my favorite class. I absolutely love Ellzey and she clearly knows her material. She leads great discussion of the pieces and is such a nice person in and out of the classroom. Get ready to read and work for your grade though. I'm sad I won't be taking her class again.

Dr. Ellzey was an amazing teacher. She really knows what she's talking about when it comes to all things medieval. She has high expectations when it comes to writing, but she does everything she can to set you on the right track. I feel like my writing ahs improved by leaps and bounds within just this semester.

I was very apprehensive about taking Dr. Ellzey. While the class was definitely hard, I did learn a lot. Though she comes off harsh at first, she actually is a very nice person. If you need help GO TALK TO HER...as long as you come to class and show some type of initiative, she will help you out. Tests are crazy hard, but the class is rewarding.

She's a wonderful professor if you try! She will make you a better writer and a better listener, and she'llbend over backwards to help if you're having a problem, and aren't just lazy. It's hard, but she's very easy to work with if you try to work with her. If you need a tutor, GET A TUTOR!

I have never worked so hard for a decent grade in my life. She knows her stuff and will definitely make you work for the grade. Not recommended for non-English majors in any way. If you can get through this amazing professor, you'll be a better writer and student for it.

Love her! There is a lot of reading & you have to keep up with it because the classes are pure discussion & she gives a participation grade for each class. There were 2 papers and you'll have 4 exams and about 6 quizzes all of which are essay. This may turn some people off but she is a fair grader so you'll be fine. She's very nice and intelligent!

Dr. Ellezy will make you work harder than you have ever worked for an english class before. While this seems scary, it is also forms the core of her success. Students actually learn how to improve their writing ability in her class. So long as you take her suggestions seriously, do the reading and get tutoring on your papers then you will do well.

Dr.Ellzey is tough in her demands. This is what makes her a good instructor. You will walk away with knowledge that is complete nothing got left out. Dr. Ellzey is one of the best English teachers I have encountered. She knows the material and even provides background knowledge surrounding the works. She is always willing to help her students. Be prepared to read the text, which all English classes require anyway. Be prepared to discuss the material- if you read it, it'll be easy.

I was worried about Dr. Ellzey, but after taking her, I was impressed. More discussion than lecture; all interpretation, not petty detail. She can seem aloof but don't let it put you off. Very knowledgeable and will look at texts from many angles; takes student comments and runs with them. Rigorous but fair grader. Very positive experience overall.

I graduated a number of years ago. Any writing ability I have I credit ENTIRELY to Dr. Ellzey. I came into college believing I was a decent writer but soon learned that, well, I had a lot to learn. She will CHALLENGE you, but trust me, it's worth it. YOU WILL BE A BETTER WRITER! Do yourself and your career a favor - take her classes!!
