Beverly Brumm was one of the best acting teachers and one of the most intrepid people I have ever known. She made me a braver, more truthful, and more conscientious actor. If I could take classes or be coached by her for the rest of my life, I would do it. -Janine Carter, former student.

Bev Brumm was one of my favorite professors. I think I grew the most in the classes I took with her. She's tough, and doesn't settle for your BS. She challenges you to push yourself whether in class or being directed by her. Much of who I am as a theatre artist is due to her influence and I am forever gratefull to have studied under her.

Bev kicked my ass. She kicked everyone's ass... I personally didn't really take to her style of teaching and, therefore, did not really get along with her and got a relatively poor grade in Acting 2. I respected the**** out of her though and may have, in the long run, come away with some good stuff. Oh, and she is Super Sexy!!!

Beverly was a jewel in the New Paltz Theatre Department. She was INCREDIBLY tough, however, the rigors she put me through helped me both as a craftsperson and as a professional. She is sorely missed, I'm sure. Anyone who claims she was 'too tough' honestly does not belong in the business. I make my living in New York due to theatre.

I took Dr. Brumm's class awhile back and yes, she was hard on me. Yet, nearly EVERYTHING she taught me has served me in my career. Nearly EVERYTHING she warned me about came true; nearly EVERYTHING she advised she advised because she knew it would benefit me. This are traits of great educators.

Though experienced and well versed in the material, Bev was an embittered and agressive woman which translated to the classroom. Very set in her ways and unable to handle/accept challenge from intellectually forward students. Sometimes dismissive.

She is a woman with a wealth of knowledge. Very opinionated, and very set on her own way of doing things. If you take a class with her, don't take it personally, but she is definately a professor that I admire, even though she picked on me!
