She really makes you work for your grade, which is a good thing. She's pretty strict on the format of the writing as well. Sometimes, the grading seems a little harsh. She offers A TON of extra credit, so I would take advantage of it so the grades even out. I would also participate a lot if I were you. Was sometimes very rude which was discouraging

This woman had is one of the worst professors I have ever had in my life. If you have a choice, do yourself a huge favor and do not take this lady's class. She is a terrible teacher, grader, person, etc. Lets you re do essays, but when i turned in my re done essay, she started saying things were wrong on it that she didnt previously mark as wrong!

If you want to hate your life for a full semester, take this class. I don't understand how I worked so hard, got D's or worse on all my essays, and ended with a B? If you take her class, definitely do the redos on papers, but don't bother buying the books.

Comment:

Dr. Johnson is a wonderful professor, but she makes you work for your grade. This class required a lot of reading and it was assignment heavy. I would do all extra credit assignments and put a good amount of effort in graded assignments. The class is doable if you put in hard work.

Professor Johnson is rude, stubborn, unclear, and apathetic. She will assign a vague thesis for an essay and then tell you to rewrite the entire thing if it doesn't meet her EXACT (and often un-specified) requirements. Her chicken scratch raises more questions than it answers, and she shows clear favoritism for some students and disgust for others.

She is a horrible professor. The class before us had to ask her to do content analysis of the novels. Is unclear in what she wants, but has strict expectations. You cannot use quotes or reference the novel. Doesn't give constructive criticism.

Quite possibly the worst professor/teacher I've ever had in my whole life. I made an appt with her during her office hours and she asked me to leave my paper with her for when I had the meeting. Went to the meeting and she didn't have any clue why I was even there. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES.

I am not one to talk bad about professors, but this class was seriously tough. I have always done good in school and this class tested my limits. She can be a tough grader, will call out on you, sometimes makes you feel stupid. I wouldn't take her class again if I had to. She made me re-write a paper more than three times.

I personally liked this professor, but that was only because I put in the work to get the grade I received. Without spending time everyday working on material for the class or going to office hours, I would have done awful. She is very passionate about English, but is a tough grader.

She is a tough grader, however you are able to revise your work for better grade. If you do not like reading this is not the class for you. The lecture may get dull at times but she truly wants her students to pass but only if you work for it.

350 characters cannot fit the amount of things I disliked about Prof. Johnson a a teacher. Expect to get an unexcused absence from class if you have a funeral / family member in hospital, even when you explain the situation beforehand. Hard grader, expect to work hard on re-writing every essay you hand in, and be confused on what she expects.

She is a boring lecturer but, is very passionate about subjects. Very tough grader, comments on papers are eligible. She can be snappy at times. Multiple assignments due on same day. But, gives opportunity to submit late ones. Must buy ALL books. Some extra credit given (you will need it)

Awful teacher, do not take! She scribbles on your papers to revise but her handwriting is impossible to read. The writing and format of the essay has to be the way she wants exactly and has strict requirements. She is very unclear and usualy doesn't repeat herself and moves on and I struggle to comprehend topic. She is rude and expects 2 much

Dr. Johnson is the worst teacher I have ever had. She is not very clear in her grading criteria and gives way too much homework all do the same day. She "corrects" essays by scribbling out your work and writing rude comments next to it. She tells you what not to do instead of what will actually help. Treats you like you're still in high school.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! She is the most boring teacher I have ever had. She will make you sit in the class until the last second even if she has nothing left to teach.. like high school. Don't ever expect to get out early. She is a very tough grader!!! She only teaches straight from the book. My advice is do NOT take her class!
