I used to be awful at math, but I managed to get an A in her class (and a 100 on the final). There was a lot of work involved, but the tests weren't hard (there was always extra credit), and the homework wasn't bad as long as you paid attention in class & did Wiley+ online work. It's a lot of work for a basic class, but you just have to work hard.

She is honestly awful. I expected an easy A, but had to work extremely hard for a C and was miserable the entire time. I never believed anyone when they said to get out, but seriously don't take her if you can avoid it.

one of the easiest teachers for calc at pitt, she prints out notes for you to follow along with and has practice tests up that are nearly IDENTICAL to the actual midterms, but the class is pretty boring even for calc 1

Dr. Michael is hands down the worst professor I have ever had in my college career. She is an awful teacher, does not explain concepts well, gives an unreasonable amount of homework and doesn't care if her students are learning. Avoid taking any of Dr. Michael's classes like the plague.

Don't be intimidated by the interviews; she can come across as condescending sometimes but she really is concerned about how her students are learning, is generally a kind person, and prepares you well for the final. Just be prepared to do a LOT of homework for the class. ~60 problems per week isn't unusual for her, not including online work.

Lectures were fairly helpful and clear. Prof did a good job of explaining the material. Her major fault is how unapproachable she is. She doesn't seem like she wants students asking her questions, or going to her for help, but she gets mad when they don't participate in class. She is very intimidating.

I pay too much money for credits to be taught by such a horrible teacher. She was rude in emails and hated answering questions. I don't understand why schools allow people like this to teach. Barely passed her class (thank God). When I'm shelling out $3000 per class I expect a teacher who cares and treats me like a person.

I picked Math 25 b/c its supposed to be the easiest way to satisfy the math requirement. I should of known when the ADVISING center told me NOT to take it BECAUSE she was teaching it!! Fortunately I got out in time and switched into a "harder" class with a prof who loves to teach. Unfortunately Michael supervises the way that course is run.

I took AP Calc in high school and got an A. I am a math major. I took this class, got a C- and have to repeat it now. 100% thanks to Beverly Michael. Cant teach, drowns you in homework, picks the absolute hardest problems to put on Exams, then doesnt curve them even when the class average is like a 40%. Plain and simple: dont take her

WORST CLASS EVER! Do not take her unless you want to screw your gpa. She puts questions on exams that you didn't learn, is rude, always late, and routinely makes mistakes during the lesson. I'm an A student. It's not that it's a hard subject, she just can't teach. She marked a question on my test wrong that I got right and wouldn't give me credit.

She is an awful teacher. I barely passed her class and it was because of the final (which she didn't write, thankfully). I had no idea what I was getting into when I signed up for her class. She doesn't curve like the other math professors, even when her classe's average is an F. Her class is incredibly boring. She reads directly from the book.

Her lecture notes were helpful and easy to follow but the exams were unnecessarily difficult. She took one exam while were were taking it to make up the answer key and it took her longer than 50 minutes to finish. Repetitive homework assignments and not a very helpful curve. If not a math major, DO NOT TAKE.

She seriously is Satan. Hands down, the WORST teacher at Pitt. Avoid her AT ALL COSTS! She is rude to students and talks down to people who have questions. The workload is impossible as well as her tests. She readily admits that no one has ever gotten 100% on the final. Seriously, take Capt Crock's version instead. Michael's class is DEATH!
