His tests are EXTREMELY easy. He grades his speeches harder. Do well on the tests in the first half of the semester and you'll be fine. There are 3 tests all in the beginning of the semester, and 4 speeches in the second half. He loves iclicker questions! We have probably answered about 1000 of them so it is a must to buy it and participate. Easy A

He speaks so much, in a monotone voice, often about nothing helpful. Don't ask him any questions because he'll ramble on for ages and only confuse you more. He is a kind man, but kindness doesn't help students understand a topic. He's vague and frustrating, but if you apply yourself you can get an A. It's just unpleasant to get there.

Dr. Edwards is absolutely useless. His classes offer nothing but confusion and he offers no clarity at all. Don't bother to ask him to explain something because his "answer" will just confuse you even more. Several friends of mine have filed complaints against him but they were told that, because he is tenured, there is nothing that can be done.

Completely busy work. Two discussions due a week with two unit tests and a final. As usual with Edwards, he's incredibly nice but he is useless if you need help. His tests are also over very minor information. Ex: Instead of asking actual content-related questions, asks the name of a person in an example anecdote.

Dr. Edwards is a kind person. However, his class will not be kind if you just try to breeze through it. He does not answer questions clearly. You'll have 3 exams before any speeches. The exams are basically memorization. If you STUDY you will pass. Great rubrics for the speeches so it's pretty easy to get a passing grade. It's possible to get an A!

His pass/fail requirement is ridiculous. You take 3 exams in the first half of the semester. If your scores on the exams do not average out to be above a 60 you have failed the course and there is no rounding up or bringing it up. You are still required to attend class. If you make above a 60, there is still a chance to bring your grade up.

Dr. Edwards is willing to work with anyone that is putting in a genuine interest in course work. No tests after the first month of the class, but they have a heavy empasis on memorization.I would take his class again, but it is not for the unmotivated.

Horrible instructor. His tests consist of a listing page, 10 nonsense items, 10 listening skills, etc. Doesn't like questions. Doesn't teach anything. I clicker questions are ridiculous. Don't take his class. Take a speech class where you actually get to speak.

Dr Edwards is the resident expert on communication. Literally wrote the book. The iClicker was a laid back fun way to earn easy points. Speaking is most of the grade, no way around it, so get over the fears early and succeed. The book material and tests will be a troublesome thing, just study well.

Dr. Edwards is a pretty nice guy but he doesn't answer questions well and goes off on tangents a lot but still decent teacher. You have 3 exams in the first month of the class and the rest are speeches. The exams are easy if you study but the speeches are pretty hard. Just study for the three exams and you should be fine for the rest of the class.

I WOULD NOT recommend this class to anyone. He does not answer the questions you ask he goes off on another tangent. He is very air headed and talks very bad to be a communications teacher. His test are pretty easy BUT his speeched are NOT and you have to do TONS of them throughout the semester. Would not take him again

Dr. Edwards is truly a nice guy. Class was always entertaining because he his hilarious, i don't think he means to be though. Test and speeches are easy. Don't ask him anything because he talks way too much. He isn't the best teacher, for godsakes he wrote his own textbook. but he is a nice guy. I do recommended this class though

Dr Edwards tests are hard and his online does require alot of work but he makes everything crystal clear in many different ways He is not odd or weird You can talk to him about anything and he is a very effective communicator The more you know and understand him the better you will do in his class. As a COMM major, I took several classes with Dr. Edwards. He is very dedicated to the students and their learning progress. Yes, his tests are hard but if you listen in class and study you will pass. He is eccentric & veer particular so follow his directions carefully. I learned the most from this professor!
