The subject is dull/dry and so is his teaching. Every class I sit there in agony while he cracks pointless/humorless jokes for 2 hours. He has extra sessions, but if you work like me, good luck attending any. In his most recent email, he stated that those who didn't go to the extra sessions this week are most likely going to fail the final.

He gives so much extra credit for attending extra sessions I ended up with about 30 points. Going to the sessions prepares you for exams as well, so put in every effort to attend. This class does take some work outside of class, but if you put in effort there is no reason not to 4.0.

During the semester I really did not like him. He always got off topic with silly jokes that were not funny and he would take too long to explain, so I would zone out. He was also a tough grader. However, he had a million examples on line like past quizzes and exams, so for the final I did significantly better than my friend with another teacher.

Loved him as a professor. He is funny and sweet, and super caring for his students. He gives tons of extra credit if you attend the SI and the extra sessions. Does tons of examples in class so there's no way you can get the tests wrong. Also, he posts tons of practice on Espace... if you do 50 percent of it you're almost guaranteed a 4.0.

Prof Hamilton is a good professor, being a math professor. I feel like he could've explained things in an easier/more clear way, but the subject is really the more difficult thing, not Hamilton necessarily. Three exams, four quizzes, and a big final. Go to class if you want to pass.

Hamilton is a very good stats professor and he really knows what he is doing. Attend the weekend sessions before exams because he gives extra credit for attending those. In a class where the tests are 100% of the grade you're gonna need the extra credit to do well. Very dorky and corny but a well hearted professor who wants you to learn

Professor Hamilton is such a sweet man. He even holds extra instructional sessions on the weekends and opens these sessions to students outside of his class. I have attended these sessions and Professor Hamilton has helped me more than my own professor. I wish I would have taken his class instead.

offers extra credit sometimes class: intro new chapter, 10 examples, repeat No homework and tests and quizzes are online. Show up to class and then study off of the tests and quizzes online and you'll pass the class. Overall pretty cool guy, but dorky

Bill is such a nice and sincere guy. He makes lots of little dorky jokes and it makes the class just a little better. The class is tough but it is what you make it. Do the practice quizzes and tests, take the notes, go to class. No homework so if you don't do well on the tests, it will hurt your grade.

Worst professor I have ever had. Tries to be funny when he is not, rambles off about statistical views and no one in the class has any idea what he's talking about. Utilize his old examsquizzes that he posts online, go to SI (or tutoring center), or you will NOT pass. I passed with a 3.0, but I like math a lot. Very hard class otherwise

I would never take Prof. Hamilton again. He does not give out partial credit when he grades the quizzestests. I always walk out of his class confused. The SI for the class was not very helpful, so I was pretty much teaching myself this whole semester.

If you have to take Stats at Oakland I highly recommend you take it with Hamilton, He is super helpful, funny and genuinely wants you to do well. I am terrible at math class but this was super easy. He makes all of his old exams available to use and the tests are exactly like the old ones. Gives a fair amount of extra credit..

First off, don't buy the book it of no use at all. Secondly, he's a good guy and he defiantly loves his job but he seems to forget that he has been studying statistics for years while the students have not. All he does during lectures is go over example, after example, after example. A positive is all his old exams are posted online, use them!

Bless his heart, such a sweet man but his exams were just so difficult! Very tough grader, offers no extra credit, but is happy to meet with you to help you out. A little corky but very friendly. Don't take if you want to pass.

Worst teacher I've ever had. Worse than high school teachers in fact. I attended every class and took all of the notes, however, he was so unclear on what we had to know that it was next to impossible to follow along. The ONLY reason I passed was because of the old tests he makes available. He does no actual teaching so have fun teaching yourself.

I'm a pretty good student, I attend lectures and take notes. However, this class was RIDICULOUS. This professor and the content is very hard to understand. He jumps around and makes no sense. I ended up teaching myself. Use the old quizzes/tests to study-this saved me. Never attended SI but I know it helps. Get someone else if you can!

He is awful. He mumbles the time and his handwriting is so tiny I had to get glasses just for this class which didn't even help much. He is very picky and expects everything to be perfect or its wrong. Hes very bad at explaining and jumps all around. He talks about the stupidest things randomly and just sucks. If you're stuck with him I'm sorry.

Incredibly hard class. The only good part is that he puts past quizzes & exams online. Use them. Almost impossible to read his writing during lectures so it's hard to take notes. He goes way too fast, you wouldn't think it's just an intro course. You can tell he loves what he's teaching, but it takes more than that to get students to understand.
