He runs over time, He talks about his personal life, etc. But he's clearly a bright character with a deep passion for the source material and the students he teaches. Likes pop quizzes. Very friendly/pleasant guy. I don't see a Calculus class getting much easier- go for it.

Probably one of the worst teachers I've ever had, and I've been in school for over three years. Not one time this semester did he teach class without stopping for 15-20 minutes to tell us a story about when he was younger and what he did in 1980. Do not recommend him as a teacher.

This professor was honestly my favorite of my fisrt semester here. He's fun, he's passionate about math, he answers your questions always, he is always able to stay during office hours to give me extra help, and he's just overall an amazing teacher. He's absolutely worth waking up early for.

Comment:

Dr. McGalliard is a great professor. Very nice, very encouraging and very helpful. Does indeed tell stories, but it helps the class to not "go into a coma" as he says. Quizzes are generally easy and he does hold review sessions before every test, which does help. Never got a bit of Calculus before I took McGalliard and I ended with a B-. Take him.

Very very nice guy. Classes always seem to end up with him telling stories and he loses track of time. He does have random attendance quizzes but the quizzes are very easy and meant for you to make a 100. Tests are usually about 8-10 questions and are not difficult. Homework is not required. One of my favorite classes

Awesome professor. ALWAYS willing to meet with you if you ever need extra help. Free quiz grades given for attendance. LOVES to tell stories, VERY energetic. TAKE HIM! (I HATE math, am AWFUL at it, and making B-A grades on tests)

This is one of the best math classes I have taken. He really cares about his students and wants you to do well. Very lenient grader as long as you show your work. Definitely knows what he is teaching. Always available for help and he even let me take my final exam on another day bc I had my chemistry final the same day. Take him if you can.

Dr. McGalliard is an AWESOME professor. Tells fun stories at random points during class. Very likable person and treats you like an old friend when you talk to him. I could not recommend this professor highly enough. I just wish that I could take him for my Intro Stats course. Could then get 2 A's in Math no problem! TAKE HIM!

Most helpful professor I've ever had. So eager for you to understand the material & do well in his class. Assigns HW problems from textbook & doesn't grade them but I strongly recommend doing them. Attendance not mandatory but has lots of pop quizzes so definitely go to class. Holds review sessions before every test (GO). I loved him, so sweet! :]

McGalliard is awesome, one of the nicest/coolest teachers ever. Tests come straight from the notes, and the only time you use the book is for practice problems (do them). McGalliard does a great job of teaching, only grades are 4-5 tests, which aren't too bad.
