He practically begs you to come ask him for help, which you might need because his lectures were very difficult to understand. You can tell he knows his stuff but he often confuses even himself while lecturing. I found myself having to watch YouTube videos of other instructors covering the same material to understand it.

You suffer in this class but the end result is that you learn a lot. Go to his office hours and show you are willing to work and he is more than helpful. One of the better professors on campus if you are willing to put forth the work.

Mr. Pine is an outstanding teacher. The class is pretty difficult, but he is very helpful if you ask. The textbook for this class is horrible, but his lectures make it alot easier to understand.

It was very obvious that Mr. Pine knew the material he taught. If you had any questions in the class he would always respond timely to emails, and had a lot of office hours. The one thing you need to do is show up for class. He does not give quizzes; he simply give you a kind of in class quiz. That makes it a little hard to take notes. Great Prof!

This was my first college math course and I can also say Mr. Pine was the first math teacher willing to take as much time to help me as he did. Given the subject matter, it is ambiguous at times, but he did a very good job at explaining concepts to us. You have to work to pass, but its computer science, that's how it should be.

Great Professor! Knowledgeable, easy to understand, and fair. He is honest, does not sugarcoat anything, as he is clear in what he expects of you. He expects you to work hard, but you will learn a lot in return.

Mr. Pine is one of the best instructors there. His lectures are boring (extremly long powerpoints) but in the end you will benefit. He has experience from the field and wants every student to do there best and will do anything to help along the way. I highly recommend any of the SE classes he teaches!

Mr Pine is very fair and very professional. He will answer any question that is presented to him. He's very approachable. His sense of humor is a little dry but he makes up for it in his ability to teach. He is great at moving from one subject matter to another. He goes into great detail about subject matter. He is not afraid to stop class when he here's a disturbance in the class.

Prof. Pine is easily one of the best professors in the dept. His experiences give him something real to draw on when speaking of programming and the real world. He is difficult, but too many profs coddle you. This is higher education; appreciate someone with standards.

Long labs and EXTREMELY long projects. Decent teacher, boring though. Started class with 15, ended with 4. Pulled off an A-. Has a very small sarcastic side. Projects were stupid. Overall, an average teacher.
