Unless you love to watch lots of movies, and already analyze them BEFORE taking this class, you will hate it. He asks you questions; using movie terms, but doesnt tell you what they mean before asking you. He asks you to write reports, but doesnt explain how to do it. He rambles and rambles. Lots of class disscussions.

Cool guy...very easy teacher!! Swanson and Salcedo were a great pair...took them as a block class and would never get bored even though class was over two hours long 4 days a week. He is very interested in films and in good ones!!

I never really interacted with him, but his class was really easy. That comment about him being pervy makes me laugh, because I thought I caught him looking at me a few times. I just brushed it off though. Whatever, I'm probably wrong, lol. There were a couple movies that were good, but I literally slept most of the time, when I wasn't bolting out of class early. Also, finding the Freudian meaning in Jurassic Park is a little ridiculous....

The film selection was great, and had occassional moments of brilliance in lectures (the rest was fairly plain). BUT, he's one of those old man pervy-professors so be warned ladies. Workload is fairly undemanding but does help you think about the material.

He can tough to grasp in his lectures, because he will cover alot of ground, and take awhile to tie all the ends together, but other than that he is a very structured professor. The films he chooses are not typically popular by American standards, so consider that before you sign up.

His movie selections were the worst. I'm a huge film buff and wanted a class that didn't have the obvious choices, but did he pick some stink bombs. Always fell asleep watching his boring film choices and listening to his monotonous voice. Cocky.

Great teacher! When I signed up for this class I though I was going to fall asleep during every movie. But his movie selection is so good that you won't allow yourself to fall asleep, afraid you might miss an important part. Bill Swanson is the best!
