I've earned four McGill degrees spanning 19 long years, and throughout it all, I feel blessed for encountering G. Blaine Baker, the most outstanding professor imaginable. I cannot thank you enough, Professor Baker, your class was far and away the most magnificent and thrilling experience throughout my entire 19 year long journey at McGill.

Comment:

Absolutely the finest and (I dare say) most intelligent professor I came across in the faculty. Makes the material clear, coherent and interesting. Witty, too. Shows more respect for the students than most. A genuine man with a genuine interest in teaching.

As a practical type myself I would say I wasn't "big" on his class-so the reviewer below me is spot on with his analysis. I believed he had a great grasp with theory but not with real life situations. Still, he is a nice man and a gentleman so if you do perfer history--take him. Otherwise, do not.

Do you enjoy history? Do you enjoy conceptual theories? If you answered yes to one, or both of those questions, you may really enjoy Professor Baker. He is incredibly knowledgeable, but does not present the material from a readily accessible perspective for 'practical types'.

Very enthusiastic, very entertaining, and very impressive surfing between hot-potato politics. A bit odd at times, watch the sudden volume changes. But fun, with the right amount of cynicism about "the law".
