His lecturing ability is lacking; he teaches very theoretically without going through many examples to clarify what he was teaching. Questions from the midterms and final are taken verbatim from past exams (which he provides) so as long as you memorize those, you'll be fine.

An interesting professor. Overall, the lecture is okay and covers main things in the textbook. And lots of exam questions come from the lecture notes. But he seems to not know how to use digital tech, so be sure to come to class.

He's a good instructor who is passionate about the material. All of the info you need is in the past practice exams. If you don't pass this class, its on you.

All his teaching is theoretical. If you're a math major you might like it, if you just want to get this class out of the way, it's an easy A. Don't take if you want to be an engineer. Old exams are identical (and I mean like verbatum every problem) so do those the day before the exam and nothing else and you will get an A.

He is an okay professor. Lectures are a bit boring and most are on proofs. However, his midterms were just like the practice ones. He reuse some of the same problems as the old ones. If you study the old exams well, you will do fine

He is a boring lecturer but going is important because nearly all the proofs he does and says are on the exams. No homework due. TAs are helpful so use them. This class isn't difficult, just understand the proofs and remember the formulas you'll be fine. His previous exams are near identical to what the exams were so mastering those is key.

Not the greatest lecturer, his class is more conceptual than actual problem solving so expect proving theorems and such when it comes to exams. Although you may not learn much from lectures (I learned more from my TA) the exams are fair, and it's easy to pass the class. He provides his past exams since 2006 and they're all very similar!

The whole class is proofs of physics concepts. If you take this class, you should have some knowledge of physics and be prepared to do proofs for everything. Usually he will give you a good idea of what will be on the test. Not a horrible professor, but not great.

A lot of people on here complain about this professor. Yes, he does test on a lot of proofs. The thing is on the test, it's basically exactly the same as what he did in class. He posts all his practice tests on his website and they're nearly identical every year, and if they aren't, he'll tell you in class.

Absolutely INSANE. He claims that physics is not needed to know the material, but on the midterms, you need an advanced physics course (upper division UC) or otherwise you will be unable to do 3 out of the 5 midterm problems. His lecture is VERY BORING as well. Not possible to pass as you cannot use formula sheet but need it on midterm.

Don't take his class. Lots of proofs from lectures covered on the tests. better go to lectures frequently. homework is not helpful and is too easy to prepare for tests. Weekly quizzes.

While he does mumble a bit, his lectures are still very clear and make sense. He's very good at explaining the theories behind the formulas. Since he spends so much time going over the proofs, it's obviously fair game for tests. Overall, I learned a lot and would definitely have him as a professor again.

Comment:
Mumbles a lot when lecturing, lectures about theory with minimal examples. Tests are all about obscure things he proved in the lecture, and the solutions to practice finals are often wrong. As for helpfulness, one of his answers to a questionI asked was literally "It's a miracle." Slow grader, final grades still not up 2 weeks after quarter end.

Absolutely awful. I advise you avoid at ALL costs. Annoying voice. Mumbles so much that his sentences fade off. Gives little to no examples during lecture.Impossible to study for his tests as it's nothing out of homework. Obsessed with Reinmann, kepler, newton and anything not important to this class. Tests are basically proofs.

Lectures extremely unhelpful, absolutely ridiculous to try to prepare for his exams because they have nothing to do with what is written in the book. I can tell he has interest in the subject, but the class is so poorly structured you are bound to fail. I wish I had done some research before registering for his class.

I'm going to keep this choppy. Hw not collected, grade solely based off exams. Lecture is useless. He mumbles & wastes time repeating things but it doesnt clarify anything, uses 11ed textbook, seems to be obsessed with KE & Jacobian, boring annoying voice. Be prepared to teach yourself calc. Refuses to listen to students. Just overall SUCKY & RUDE.

He is a good teacher, but his tests are very hard. It is hard for you to pass the test because the things you learn in class will never appear on the exam. Thanks God that he curve the class! I failed the last two midterm but I still get a C in his class.....

You can study this class because the things he taught in the lecture will not appear on the test. test are freaking hard. The TA are bad too because they do not explain the answer clearly. I was asking the TA a question but she answered"I don't know how to explain"! do not take his class if you can!
