Comment:
Dr. Kahana is a very intelligent person and I have respect for him, but he should not be lecturing anymore. He is in his eighties, and is very difficult to understand. His lectures are very dry and boring, even though the content of the class I took was not boring. His lecturing style did not help me so well in his class. The exams were tough.

You can tell he really cares about what he's talking about. He gives three exams and the final is optional. You need to take a lot of notes in class but he repeats a lot of things and reviews for exams so you don't miss anything. Offers extra credit for each exam as well. Lectures were sometimes boring as he's older and quiet but he is knowledgable

Dr. Kahana is a very respectable professor, but his lectures are extremely dry and hard to hear. His materials are very outdated. His tests are very tricky. You have to know the ins and outs of the book to do well in this class. I would recommend taking a different professor.

This professor was one of the worst professors I have ever had. He gets confused a lot and gets off topic very easily. He's very old and is very hard to hear. When enrolled in one of his classes be prepared to teach yourself ALL of the material. He will not teach you a thing. Be prepared to read and study a ton. I do not recommend that you have him

Very great professor , hard to understand him at times but if you go to him after class he will explain . Lots of reading and exam prep . Just 4 exams and optional final . I received an a in the course by using flash cards and preping atleast a week before exam . Very time consuming course

You can tell he loves his job but that doesn't make this class any easier. His tests are tricky. There are sometimes two right answers to a question. He wants you to know the "more correct one". Also, don't take the optional final. He told us to study material that wasn't on it and everyone I know got a C, which didn't raise our grades.

The textbook was awful, his assistants didn't know which end was up, the exams were tricky, and his lectures made most daydream. He taught this like a true science class which requires lots of studying and notecards. He's a good teacher but this class was a bore.

His class isn't too bad, but it is not great either. *NOTE: ALL tests give u choice A, choice B, C= both A & B & D= none of the above. The one time I actually read everything I got the lowest test score. His test are extremely TRICKY. However, I am taking another class with him next sem bc hes the only prof teaching it and its required.

He's a GREAT TEACHER, he's one of the best at CSU. If you are a psych major you MUST take a class with him. Don't miss a class and read the book and you'll at least get a B. Can get boring though but that's why we have cell phones. If he doesn't use the MIc it can be hard to hear him.

He is a good prof. Attendance is mandatory and you must take good notes from his lectures. Also its in your best interest to read the book since he doesn't use any powerpoints. As long as you pay attention, take notes and study, you'll do great.

Try to sit in front because he is older and speaks quietly. Attendance is required because he shows movies and plays tapes that are always on the test. Read the book! Most of the material on the test is from the book, his videos and tapes. Some questions on are little bit tricky, but he curves. If you study, you will be fine. Overall great guy.

Take Abnormal Psych with Kahana!! Extremely interesting, but one may need to sit up front as he is hard to hear at times. Must read book as the tests are very much book heavy as well as the tapes and videos shown in class. If you take good notes (can write quickly), read the book, and study each night, you should get at least a B in the class.

Great Professor ! His psychology of aging class consist of 4 exams, the final exam is optional, no presentations, no group work, no essays. Very interesting class, but you must read the book since he only outlines it in class. Exams are from book material. I took 2 classes with him and passed both times. Take notes, you'll do fine !
