Worst professor I have taken at Hofstra so far. Rambles in class about things unrelated to sociology and then gives tricky multiple choice & t/f tests. Avg. grade on the last test we took was a C and the highest grade was an 88. Harder to do well in this class than most core classes which is just absurd. Avoid at all costs unless you like B's

Costello is honestly the best professor I've ever had. He is so sweet, caring, and wants you to do well. If you don't pass his class with an A than it's clearly your fault. He goes over EVERYTHING you need to know. Can't get better than him. Wish i could take more of his classes. Very intelligent.

Last two classes cancelled last second and No Final Review thats lazy. Nothing in the review sheet on the final. He needs to drop the multiple choice tests and go back to eassy format. Unless you think random questions, not covered in detail for more than 1 second on a final is ok. He has potential to be a great professor in the future.

I would definitely take this professor again. He is very sweet and funny. We did have to do an essay outside of class, which included going to arraignment court, but it wasn't that bad. This is a very easy class. I'm not a criminology major and I found this class to be very fascinating. Take this class!

Definitely a qualified professor! Knows his stuff and is very clear in his presentation methods. Very fair grader, but sometimes tougher than you expect. Funny and connects with the class. Subject is very interesting and you will learn a lot. Class covers the specifics of the law and connects with readings to see social factors and crime relation.

Professor Costello is amazing. I recommend him highly for anyone who needs to finish up their distribution classes. Hes a great professor, very willing to help and very understanding. Take Professor Costello hes the best Hofstra has to offer. Right up there with Professor Bass and Dr. Marino

Professor Costello is very nice! Assignments are easy for the most part. Attendance is not really mandatory but he says it is. The assignment going to the court to observe arraignments was lots of fun. Not very clear on grading for assignments given back, just writes a grade but for the most part he is easy & a fair grader. NO effort and got an B+!
