This was not a good experience. Classes crawled, making it hard to pay attention or even show up at all. Tests, however, covered several chapters that we just skimmed through and online work. Don't sign up for his class unless you have a thorough understanding of physics and astronomy and are willing to work really hard for a just passing grade.

Dukes is a good guy but is entirely too old to still be teaching. Classes are so boring, its sometimes painful to sit there. Test are impossible unless you have made astronomy your life. Don't take this class

hes really funny and a great guy, really entertaining and sweet, but really hard. don't take him if you want an easy A, tests are impossible even with 1 page of notes. he gives you these really easy clicker questions and then makes the tests impossible. he gives alot of extra credit though.

He's a nice and fun guy. I took Intel Life in the Universe with him. The class was poorly structured and he would constantly give us a course outline one week and then give us another the next that would totally contradict it. Most people thought the class took too much work, though I didn't think it was that bad. All in all, it was still fun.

Dr. Dukes is amazing! He's nutty + you're guarunteed a laugh every class. His tests can be a bit hard, but he allows a one sided cheat sheet so ppl who do poorly on tests didn't take advantage of the cheat sheets. Definetly the most memorable teacher I've ever had. PS his throwing and catching skills are awesome! take him youll see what i mean!!!

He gives plenty of opportunties to pull up your grade and you can tell he is trying to be the best teacher possible. The subject matter is kind of detailed but he is very willing to help. He will keep you all three hours of lab but the last lab he will provide pizza and popcorn.

Dr. Dukes is amazingly cute and sweet - he is very understanding and will always do anything he can to help you! Yea - Astronomy is HARD, but he does everything he can to help us understand. Be courteous and sit in the front.. and for God's sake, remember that Balmer is level 2!! Def. take Dukes.

i ADORE dr. dukes!!! He is SO sweet, nice, helpful, and FUNNY! His stories in class always spice things up, and he is just one of the sweetest older man I've ever met! The first day he was dressed up and shook everyone's hand that came into the class and introduced himself with a big grin - I've been falling in love with this guy ever since!

ugh, i hate astronomy! Although Dukes tests are REAL hard, somehow i wound up with a C in the class (after i had a 13 at midterms, no joke) He knows ALOT ab astronomy & wants you to know JUST AS MUCH. Id take his class again, just because he is a nutjob & fun to watch. THANKS FOR PASSING ME DUKES!

Dukes is too cool! Although his classes seem way longer than most, he's funny to watch and helpful if you ask him. Tests are hard, but keep good notes and you'll do fine because the tests are open notebook!
