Comment:

Horrible teacher, makes everything about biology so uninteresting.Teaches as if you already know what he is talking about.Never gives you an update on your grade and is very late on grading things.He is VERY inflexible and inconsiderate.Its either his way or the highway.Doesn't have any office hours and very hard to get in contact ourside of class.

Comment:

Bob is not the greatest teacher but he knows a lot and means well. He is not very clear and goes off on wild tangents a lot. The key to passing his class with an A is to copy exactly what he writes on the board during lecture and memorizing it verbatim. He does not believe in multiple choice.

He is a bright man, but he is not a good teacher. He does not communicate well, he struggles to answer questions and often goes on tangents that are confusing. His tests and quizzes are difficult and written to try to trip you up. This prof will damage your GPA and teach you very little.

Absolutely horrible. His Lectures are boring and useless in preparation for the test, his labs are easy but what his class grade is based on is his 3 exams. If you do not do well in 2 out of his 3 exams you will get a D even if you did well on the rest of the class material. Again his lecture is not helpful for exams, DO NOT TAKE!

TERRIBLE teacher. Showed up to class on the same day he had major surgery. Does not prepare class for exams or quizzes, does not explain material well. Will tell class he's not covering a section and that we should read the book, and, in the same breath, that the book is wrong. Does not return exams for weeks. AWFUL.

He is tricky on his quizzes and often ask tricky questions in his test but If you come to the class regularly and listen carefully, you can catch the points.I think you don't learn so much deep about topics in his class cuz he doesn't force you to read the textbook. I attend all his classes and read the lecture regularly and got A.

For a easy class,Bob makes the concepts hard to understand. His lecture make some sense, but the quizzes often have irrelevant questions on subject matter. He's not all bad;often has quirky stories and does care about biology. Basically, he's a nice guy, but not the best professor. Luckily, the biology concepts are pretty easy, so you'll be fine.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Horrible teacher! He would mark your answer wrong if you misspelled a word or did not use proper english...it's a BIo lab! Completely unfair, it's almost as if he wants you to fail and 80% of our class did so our lecture teacher didn't use his grades, thank god. Not a bad person, but definitely a horrible teacher.

Bob is the best science teacher i've ever had! Prior to taking this class I hated science and came out wanting to be a bio major. He makes science understandable and enjoyable because you understand it. He does everything he can to explain concepts and ideas. Just show up, skim over text, study, and pay attention and you'll be good to go!

Bob does not go by the book at all. He is expecting you have a lot of Biology Knowledge already. We jumped in and had a full 10 essay quiz on the monday after the first class...The questions were not the obvious ones from the lectures. They were the ones you would least likely remember...

DO NOT buy the text book; I only opened it twice all semester. Plus, his lecture notes are completely different from the book. Pay attention in class; All tests/quizzes are purely based on lecture notes and are mostly fill in the blank. If you miss a class/notes you're screwed. Study your notes and you might have a chance.

Well, I took a science class with Bob at another college he teaches at Grossmont College. He is one of the worst instructors I have ever had. He is all over the place and rarely makes sense. In addition, if you make a minor spelling mistake on your quiz or exam he will mark you wrong. His class is like getting your teeth pulled only more painful.

I learned so much from Bob. He's a really neat teacher and makes great jokes. Sure, his tests are hard (they're fill in the blank!) but you don't really need to read the text! Just pay close attention to lecture and feel free to use a tape recorder. Highest grade in class was a B. I'll see u at the next Renaissance Fair Bob!

Very bad at explaining. You have to memorize his definition or you get it wrong. He hardly uses the book. Almost all of quizzes and tests are write the complete definition or drawing the perfect diagram, or essay. Class average for midterm was 67%.

He does expect a lot from a 100 level class. There is no mutiple choice - everything is memorization including diagrams, definitions, etc. As long as you attend class and get ALL the notes you're in the clear. You will never be asked something that isn't in the notes.
