Granted he is a terrific guy he is too smart to be teaching and introductory level course. The class is very difficult to do well in. You never know what he expects; on homework or tests. I worked my butt off for this class and could barely manage a B. Info is cool, lab is awesome, but the lecture is absolutely despairing.

Nice guy, tests were really hard but he gives you opportunities to improve your grade. Attendance isn't mandatory but he gives quizzes every day that are a big part of your grade. Go to class and do the readings and you'll be fine

Professor Nusbaum was a good professor in that he made a subject which I have no interest in interesting. The grade was based on daily quizzes and 3 exams. The exams were not easy, but he personally gave review sessions prior to the tests. We also did not have a required textbook, but were required to read online articles. Good professor overall.

Future honors geo students - watch out! This class is very difficult; if you don't like science, don't take an honors science class. Tests are excessively difficult because he tests on material that he barely even mentions, and gives little indication that it's an important topic. Worst decision ever to take this class.

We have a huge lecture class and you take notes on the powerpoints- to do well you don't have to come to class or take notes, but you'd have to study thoroughly before tests. He'll help clarify anything for you, and always tries to make funny jokes. I enjoy him and the class

Dr. Bob is a cool guy. Geology is not my thing, and I struggled at first but then went in and talked to him to get help. His help lead me to getting an A in the class. If you do not understand anything, or simply want to review, go see him. The class is tough b/c there is a lot of material, but if you work hard Dr. Bob will help you get through it

DUDE! Dr. Bob is the most amazing professor. I had him for Earth History and Mineralogy...he's so unbelievably helpful, I didn't understand, well anything, but he definitely took over and I started understanding so much more! He's so excited to see growth in his students...if you ever get a chance take him!!

Yes, Dr. "Bob" is a very nice person and cares about students, but bless his heart, he's not an effective teacher! More importantly, He teaches mineralogy like it's a graduate or doctoral course. WAY too difficult for 200 level undergrad Geo course. If you're not a CHEM wiz, BEWARE! Everyone dreads the class which is a shame.

Great prof! His lecture are a bit scattered at first, but you'll understand his method by the first exam. He really makes Earth History lecture interesting (a hard thing to do). He even includes SNL clips in his class. El Nino!
