This communications class operates like a free course from coursera. Instead of getting feedback from the professor, we only get feedback from our classmates. I wish I can get both. If not, I prefer feedback from the professor. We submitted 4 individual papers, but none was returned to us. Pretty sad. Summer 2016.

There were a few writing assignments, but we never got our grade/feedback back from him! (I LOVE HIS JOB!) There was a high chance that we made the same mistake over and over again in all writing assignments without even knowing about it. The final grade was meaningless if we didn't know how we progressed.

A great experience. One of the nicest teachers I have ever had. If you are engaged in what is being discussed, you will get a lot from this class. I liked his teaching style and his level of interaction with students. I wish I could take his class in my second year, too.

This was a great class. It is true that he is a little slow returning papers, but give him a break. He looks at everything that the class submits and there are individual writing assignments. He is approachable and fun. He really likes his students and wants students to enjoy spending each Monday night with him. Enjoy class and stop complaining.

Worthless. He knows nothing about his topic (communication is more than pearls of wisdom and anecdotes). His grading is arbitrary (minimum feedback on your papers, and NO feedback on the final project), and will ping you hard for class participation if you you're not one of the chatty ones. One of the most worthless classes I've ever had.

Good class. Kept lectures interesting. Very slow in giving feedback on papers. Needs to be more clear on what he is looking for in final assignment. Most of the course is common sense.

I would recommend a different professor. His grading is arbitrary and little to no direction and feedback are provided by this professor.

Very nice guy and good prof. Class is somewhat common sense, especially for the Flex program students who have to use this in their everyday jobs. But Stowers is great and keeps class interesting. Would definitely take another class from him. You need to be able to write well, though.

Excellent. Communications is NOT one of my strong suits, but this class/prof was of immense help to me. Hated presenting in front of groups before this class, but through this class understood that I was not alone & found ways to minimize discomfort! Still don't like presenting, but have more confidence when I must. One of the best @ W&M MBA.

A great professor who is dedicated to teaching. Most students are not interested in what he teaches but by the end of the year, they grow to understand the importance of communication in business. I would highly recommend this professor.
