Bonita is the worst professor I have had. She doesn't teach anything about writing lessons or being a teacher, and uses the class as a forum to push her own political views. She degrades and mocks you if you share an opinion that's different than hers in a class that's supposed to be discussion and opinion based. Condescending and rude. Avoid her.

Bonita Hampton is just OKAY, that is, if you lie about your opinions so that you make her like you. The class is discussion based, but do not think that means you are protected from ridicule if she does not agree with you. She is clear on expectations, but impossible to reason with. Just be prepared to suck up if you want a good grade.

Be prepared for an 18 pg syllabus. She is VERY specific about everything. She sometimes grades hard on weird stuff and there is no point in arguing. Overall her class is a great class in which you mostly debate in a professional manor. She means well and is a great professor! She is pretty funny too. I highly recommend.

She is horrible! She is rude and if she doesn't agree with you she attacks you. Her syllabus is a while lot of words with no clarity. It just says the same thing over and over again. Everything she does is confusing. She doesn't know how to explain anything. Just don't do it. You will regret taking her class.

Good class, heavy discussion. Must read. Prof can be kind of rude/negative and tends to over assign work to on just one day. Have to initiate class 1x, discuss each class, do 5x reading reviews, a potluck (even if youre broke!), and a big final. Kind of helpful, only kind of nice. Take it if you have to, but opt for another prof. if you can.

Her background gives her amazing experience with social injustices hands down. The class really opened me up to different views and opinions. It's a discussion based class and you HAVE TO TALK in order to receive a passing grade. If you just agree with her and back her up she will like you. Easy class, just do what she asks.

Very nice professor. May seem kinda mean and strict at first but not bad after a while. Participation is crucial in order to do decent so talk everyday. Thought I talked enough but apparently not. Good class if you like to argue and discuss

The lady may be so nice to some but I participated in every class and still received a low grade. She talks a lot about how she grew up in poverty and racism. I'm a male, I turned all work in on time and rceeived good grades on all projects yet still did not pass. so personally I am left with thinking she hates white men and graded me accordingly

She was my favorite teacher, and favorite class. The first day is scary, but the work is not difficult if you time yourself accordingly. Talk in class, just do it nobody is going to make fun of you. If you are going to be a teacher you should be able to talk in front of your class anyways. I think she is an amazing teacher and person.

She is a great teacher! The first day is very intimidating, but after that it's all down hill. You definately have to participate and talk in class, but as long as you do your work accordingly she is perfect. She is very helpful and willing to help you outside of class. She has a tough outer skin but is a very good person!

Hampton is quite the odd professor. She means well, but offers nothing more than redundant themes and ideas we have all heard before. She thinks that the material in her class is eye opening, but it isn't. She can be very helpful, when she isn't verbally attacking her students. Just agree with her and keep quiet.
