One Midterm, a paper, and a Final. The readings are the basis of the entire class. Although she covers most of the readings in class it is still probably best to also read and not just attend lecture. The test questions are prereleased in a bank and she only picks some, they are short answer. Not the hardest, but it takes some work.

It's my first Philosophy class, and I'm considering adding a Philosophy major. She's a wonderful professor, but definitely makes you work for your grade. She's very articulate and knowledgeable in the things she says- TAKE NOTES! There are 3 writing assignments that account for your entire grade, so make sure you really UNDERSTAND the bookstexts!

This class is way too difficult to be lower division. The content is okay but her lecture style doesn't clarify much of the reading. 6 page paper dude a week before the final. If you're interested in philosophy okay but if not and just looking for g.e's i wouldn't recommend it.

Great lecturer, often makes jokes. If you are taking humcore, she is one of the better lecturers during fall quarter. Attendance is "mandatory", but you view her power point slides online. Books need not be read, just understand the concept of each philosopher, and you shall be fine.

She always keep the lectures interesting and she likes to say a few jokes from time to time! But if you're a slacker and don't attend lectures, you won't miss much because her PPT slides online say EVERYTHING. You don't even need to read the books!

Great lecturer, really good at keeping people's attention. She made all her subject matter interesting and often made jokes. Readings weren't the easiest things to understand but she was very good at explaining them and answering questions about them until they were understandable. Probably the only lecturer I was sad to see go. Highly recommend.

Grade Breakdown: 1)2 essays 2)1 exam. Essays were our own prompt (kinda hard...). The exam is based on the reading, and she gives us a study guide. The class is extremely interesting and informative. She's nice, funny, and fun.

At first I thought this would be a boring class and she seemed like a difficult teacher, but she makes everything straightforward. Her lectures were interesting and I had good laughs in that class. She is intelligent and shows understanding in what she teaches. Turned out to be an okay class.

She'll scare the hell out of you when she cites past statistics and exam grades. Don't buy it. Don't drop this class. If you can stomach your way through it, you'll be a part of something great. Her lectures are captivating and inspirational. TAs are tough graders but ultimately show their subjective side. Office hours are well worth it. Have fun!

This was my second class with Prof. Kent and it was one of the most difficult courses I've ever taken but I would still recommend it. She might seem a bit intimidating but her office hours are helpful.

Bonnie is one of the best in UCI's Phil department. She's a firecracker. Be prepared to work. And work. And work. If you are looking for an easy A, she's not the one. If you are looking for someone who is funny, sarcastic, intelligent and who will challenge you then Kent is the one.

Yea, its pretty difficult for a lower division class. i took it to fulfil breadth requirement and it bit me in the ars. Got a C+, midterm and final you really have to prepare for with the study guide, and then u have an 8 page paper that takes forvever to write, revise, and grade. TA (MATT) was a dick.

Shes really smart, and funny. She ususally has extra office hours, and is willing to correct a draft. Do all the reading she generally has a comprehensive final, and you will prolly have to come up with at least one of your own paper topics.
