He's a super smart guy but will bore you to death. Lectures start easy and get confusing and not understandable and not enough context on material is explained. Throws stuff at you that is hard to use for the homework. Best described as too smart to teach college kids. Not good at making connections with people.

He is too smart to teach this class. He doesn't realize that he should dumb down what he is saying for the individuals that have never taken a Calculus course before. If you go to the tutors for help you will get through the class just fine. The tests are pretty easy if you understand the material

Offers study guides with problems similar to the test and will even have a review before the test where you can ask questions. Pop quizzes on problems similar to homework material, so going to class if important! I did not do well in college Calc, but Brother David Carlson's class is easy enough to follow and his notes are incredibly helpful.

If you take his Calculus class prepare to fall asleep in it. The subject material is very dry and he doesn't do much to make it interesting. Wastes a lot of paper during the semester. Rushes through a section in the book a day. At the end of class he often does a ridiculous problem that has nothing to do with what we've just learned. Waste of time.

Classes taken 1991 - 1995. Courses ranged from 100 to 400. Rules for his classes. #1 do not lose his hand outs, you'll need them. Long live CAOS and MIC1 language #2 What is discussed in class appears on the tests, so attendance is key. #3 Material is dry, pace is med. #4 You will learn, you may not think so, but trust me, you will.

if u havent taken much math, this is a good class and hes a good teacher to take. he goes pretty fast in class and its a little hard to keep up, but he outlines the exact test and just puts in different numbers so that really helps.

Br. David is awsome!! He really gets to the point and makes it clear. Oh and I think He was a Lumber Jack before he joined the monastery. But that's Ok, I don't have to buy books!!!
