Listen in class and complete the 10 homework assignments that are manditory and no problem getting an A. Class is not easy, but if you go to class and take notes there is no problem. Wirkus might be the most overall intelligent professor at Carroll so listen and you will learn more then just what you can find in a textbook (not a phil major)

Awesome Professor! She makes philosophy so interesting. I hardly ever read and I didnt have to. Bc she is so good at teaching it just sticks with you. Just take a few notes and look at them before a test and it will come back to you(if you somewhat pay attention in class). She is always willing to help. She's the best!

Dr. Wirkus makes philosophy EASY to understand. And if you have any problems you can go to her and she is very helpful. She encourages class participation. Exams are easy and pretty much come from the HW questions. Take notes of any vocabulary word that you go over in class or if you read something in the book that you don't understand - look it up

You don't really have to read. Just go to class and take notes. She's a great prof, explains everything clearly. I always recommend her to people who have had bad experiences in PL because she's the best in the dept. She's very funny and is just a great teacher. Not much work either.

GIVE DR. WIRKUS A RED HOT CHILI PEPPER!! this woman is amazing!!! I would not take any other class in the PL dept. if she wasn't teaching it!! I read like 10 pages out of the book and still did really well because her class notes were soooo awesome! never had a professor explain such a hard subject so well and made it sooo much easier to understand

Dr. Wirkus, a superb prof at JCU! She loves what she does and I could listen to her all day. She's great at engaging her students and her class is nothing short of interesting. It's philosophy, but it's not your typical philosophy class, you just have to TAKE HER to understand. You have 10 HW's, 2 exams, and 1 paper. But VERY VERY VERY HELPFUL!

Attend class regularly, do 10 homeworks whenever you want throughout the semester, go over the main points in the readings for the tests and you will do alright. A final paper of 7 pages was kind of a bummer at the end, but she really helps you out and doesn't make the class seem like hardcore Philosophy which is great.

I LOVE Professor Wirkus! She is so funny and she really taught this class well. I never felt like I left class being confused, she always explained everything thoroughly. Can't wait to take her for my next Philosophy class! ATTEND her classes and read the text and you'll be fine!

One of the best professors I have had so far at John Carroll! The material and reading is very difficult but she explains it extremely well in class and is always willing to help. Its manageable if you put effort into it, so definitely take her if you have a chance!

Great teacher. Philosophy is not the most straight forward subject ever, but she made her class easier to understand with examples and really good notes on the material. The class was not a breeze but as long as you take good notes, go to class, and pay attention you'll be fine. I really recommend taking her.

Dr. Wirkus's class is great! She gave around 30 homework assignments of which only 10 had to be completed. While she does take attendance, it really is worth it. Withoou reading a whole lot from the text I had a frim grasp on the material and the tests were a breeze! If you want a nice low-stress philosophy class, take Wirkus!
