Comment:

The worst and laziest professor I have ever had. He relied on the TA's to do everything, his lectures always got off topic, you have to teach yourself everything from the book because he sure doesn't teach it. For someone who struggles with Psych, do not take it with Beck.

Comment:

This guy is hilarious. The course kit (basically an online textbook) you need for the course is $100, so prepare for that. You are only graded by tests, and there are only 30 questions on them, so STUDY. Go to class and read the course kit, DO THE PRACTICE QUESTIONS. That was the most effective way I studied and memorized the material.

Dr. Beck makes lectures fun and interesting! You need the coursekit for this class because questions on the test come from it not the notes!! You dont need to go to class as long as you read and show up on test days!! He offers extra credit so do all of the assignments!! I heard other intro to psych classes were difficult but this one was not!

Unbiased review: funny but you HAVE to study. He gives extra credit (the only reason I finished with an a) I studied the same for all of my tests nearly 100 on two, barely 80s on the others so GO TO CLASS,GET THE BOOK. ( you lose points if you dont even . we dont use it) TAs? Rude. He wont really give you the time of day, so make friends w/ TAs

He is very enthusiastic during his lectures and he always has a funny story to tell. I was always engaged when he talked because he would run around and just laugh at life. He was great. Youre going to have to buy an online course kit, it will really help when you need to study. He also gives a lot of extra credit.

Dr. Beck is hilarious I never had an issue listening to his lectures. He only gives tests, but as long as you go to class and read the textbook it is easy! Love him the most 10/10.

By far one of the funniest professors I have had. Makes class super fun tells fun stories that relate to the subject to make it fun. Tests are decently hard! you MUST study!! class is "optional" because he doesn't take attendance but if you don't go you will fail. Plus you'll miss out on a fun time!

He's okay. He is really funny but gets off track a lot. He gives you 12 extra credit points throughout the semester. If you study the note slides, read the textbook, and practice the quizzes in the textbook you will pass. He uses the quiz questions in the book for exams.

You can easily get an A in this class as long as you study the coursekit. Beck made the coursekit, too, so it's entertaining to read. Beck is HILARIOUS and even though you can get an A without showing up to class, his lectures are so funny and interesting that you'll want to attend anyway. He gives extra credit after all your exams.

Dr. Beck is by far my favorite teacher at Bloom. I learned so much in his class. His exams are easy if you attend lecture, read the book, and do the practice questions at the end of each chapter. Dr. Beck is hilarious. I laugh in his class all the time. His lectures are really interesting too. He offers extra credit as well. I definitely recommend.

This guy is a nut. Hes always screaming and making jokes. He gives tons of extra credit. His tests are only 30 questions so you cant get a lot wrong. Also, he makes you buy his online book which is super expensive but you need it if you want to pass.

He is the type of professor that you either love the way he teaches or hate it. I personally loved this class. Having a class from 6:30-9:30 is a pain and it is hard to get yourself to go especially if it isn't mandatory, but he made the class enjoyable and I was always happy I attended class.

Dr. Beck made class enjoyable with his funny remarks. He gave examples to help students understand the material better. However, you NEED to buy the overpriced online textbook if you want to pass. He takes test questions directly from it. There are terms on the exams that are not discussed in lecture. Do the extra credit! It brought me up to an A.
