He is a very hard teacher. His tests are pretty fair though but still pretty tough. HW is extremely difficult, and his lectures are fast-paced and hard to keep up with. Somewhat boring as a lecturer. If you don't want to have to work hard, this is not the class for you.

If you are looking for an A or B this is NOT the class for you. I took calculus in high school, got a 98 and thought this intro to calc course would be an easy A, but it was a nightmare. Tests are graded harshly, the homework is incredibly difficult, and you always leave lectures unsure of what just happened. Avoid this class at ALL costs

This teacher was a typical math teacher. He looks so dorky but he is a good teacher. He clearly explains how to do a topic and he will go over it if you have questions. If you go to class and do the hw this class will be pretty easy.

Dr. Boe is the worst teacher that i have ever had. prior to his class calculus was my best subject and i loved it. he found a way to make everything confusing and as hard as possible. his tests are only 5 questions but they take forever to do. the webwork problems have nothing to do with what we do in class.DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WILL REGRET IT.

I found his class extremely hard, and calc was a piece of cake for me before this class. The only thing I liked was when we went over the WebWork problems before they were due online; that was helpful. You have to work really fast to get through his tests on time. He let your average on the final replace your overall test average if it was higher.

Math is my best subject but he was one of the hardest teachers I've ever had. Taught very fast. Didn't use the book at all and even quoted it as being "incorrect" sometimes.!?Tests were impossible. Talked down to everyone in the class and stopped a lot of people from asking questions. Made things more difficult than they needed to be.

My Calc 1 professor told me NOT to get Boe for Calc 2, but I got stuck with him anyways. He was actually a really really good professor. I mean, he does fly through all of the information really quickly, but he explains everything really well. I love math (math education major) and I ended up getting an A in his class!
