he is an amazing professor who has a lot of knowlege on the matrial. The course itself is difficult but if you put in the work you should be fine! The only homework is mastering genetics, 2 exams and a final. Be ready to read alot. Reads of powerpoints. If you study hard you should get a decent grade. I would take him again!

Dr. Pickett is the best BIO professor I've had at Loyola! He is extremely helpful, teaches subject in a very interesting manner, and overall is a very nice person!!! He is not a hard grader, he really wants to see your effort. I would highly recommend this professor!

Comment:

He's a really nice guy and very easy to approach. His tests are a bit ridiculous though. A couple of questions would be insignificant to the test material. For example, the test material would be about biotechnology, but he asked where a gene would be on a chromosome. It seemed out of place. Good guy though. Decent teacher. Keeps spirits up.

gene evo is the easiest WI class you will take. one ten page paper, and one presentation to do to the class (about 20-30 minutes). everything is due at the end of the year, so you ahve plenty of time. this also means procrastination will definitely occur, but its still not hard at all. attendance is a must, so show up (20% of grade)

Very good teacher.Lectures are not boring.Uses powerpoint.Tests are not too hard(the 2nd one is the worst).Expects u to know a lot but most of the test is on lecture material.Curves.Makes genetics interesting to learn.Dont have to read the book a lot.

the most frustrating class i've ever taken. his lectures are based on powerpoints that u can print out and study BUT the figures on the slides are from different books from the one he makes u buy. also, his tests are absolutely impossible!!!!

Great Teacher but freakin hard. You literaly have to study soooooo much. He makes you do all the homework unlike any other teacher, and everything is fair game. If want an easier teacher take Bousy or Laten. For an easy A stear clear of Picket

Great professor, always willing to help students. Interesting lectures. Perhaps a little too much into statistics, but he tries to have his students thinking analytically, rather than memorizing.
