I have read some of the post and although Baldwin expects you to do the work--she cares about students, she goes out of her way for students and she makes herself available. Some of the negative comments here have not been my experience. She works quite a bit giving out extra credit and she seems to be prepared and know the material.

Dr. Baldwin is a fun person and undoubtedly a good lawyer. However, in regards to being a law professor, she does the minimum and expects the maximum. She doesn't put students in the best position to succeed. She will find any excuse to avoid as much responsibility as possible. Hardly inspirational for 1Ls.

she picks favorites, and if she doesnt like you, there is nothing you can do about it. she will try to do anything in her power to make you do bad solely because she gets a bad vibe from you. she teaches alot, but she is impossibly hard, and very unfair, and unrespectful. dont take her class

Baldwin's class is pretty tough, but she really tries to make the material clear and easy to understand. She offers a lot of extra credit opportunities and usually accidentally mentions any suprise quizes. Try to get her to remember your name, it means she likes you and thinks you participate well enough.

Baldwin is an excellent professor. It is true that she is a tough grader, but law school is no walk in the park. She tells great stories and has a wealth of experience to share. Go to class and take advantage of the EC she offers, you'll need it. She's great at answering questions and making herself clear. It's alot of work but its worth it.

You HAVE to work to get a good grade in this class. Baldwin is an excellent teacher and you can learn a lot about the legal system from her. She is very entertaining and helps the class out by offering multiple extra credit points. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM!!! People often complain about her class, but its important to remember law school is a a lot of hard work and her class only gives you a taste of what lies ahead. Also NU is in the top 130 schools in the US, you should have to work for good grades!!!

This is a very challenging course, but if you do the reading, go to class, and pay attention, you'll do fine. Baldwin is really funny and she tells great stories in class. Do the extra credit paper. It's worth it.

Tough teacher, you will learn a lot but you really have to work for a good grade. I escaped with a C and was happy. Read all cases and do every extra credit cuz they will really help out. Participate as much as possible to. Hint: if she remembers your name it means she likes you and you participate enough.
