Comment:
Dr. Galvin was an absolute sweetheart. I had her for Human Sexuality, and she never failed to make all students feel comfortable with the otherwise uncomfortable subject matter. The course was half-online, using the book to take quizzes and write short responses, and half-class (usually involving watching videos or going over the book).

Dr. G. is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about her subjects, and loves to hear students' points of view in class discussion -- but, her attendance and grading policies are ruthless. Due to life circumstances I missed class + coursework for 2 weeks (4 classes) and suddenly went from an A to an F. She refused to let me make anything up.

Took her for research methods 1. She makes you feel stupid, she even called students stupid and I caught her talking badly about me openly in the hallway of an academic building. She treats students as if they are less than her. She is apparently respected because shes been a professor for a while at fsu but I dont respect her at all.

Dr. Galvin is an absolutely amazing professor. She is passionate about the material & wants students to be actively engaged. She always creates space for discussions and is available for help outside of class. Gives honest feedback, always--so helpful. So caring, very smart.

One of the best professors I have had at FSU. All of the assignments are online and usually you have 1 or 2 written assignments, a discussion board, and a quiz every week. She opens up the HW Monday and you have until Sunday to do them. Solid workload but plenty of time to do it. Really laid back and relatable professor.

Took an online class with this instructor. She rarely ever answered questions I emailed to her. That was really irritating.

One of the best professors I have had. She shows a passion for what she is teaching and is truly interesting in the students. Her lectures are not just recited text but are full of personal experiences that make the subject interesting. She is in tune with how students learn best and is obviously interested in the students. Very helpful, caring

I love Dr. G! I took the class with some interest but she really puts everything into such relatable perspective. She is SO patient, kind, and really knows what she's talking about - not to mention she's hysterical!

Very nice and insightful teacher. She shares a lot of personal stories that relate to the topics. Weekly quizzes - online; most of class is actually online. Weekly movies that pertain to the subject matter at all. Take if you want an easy A.

most of the work was due online and it felt more like an online class than a normal one. there was no point in showing up to class because all the assignments were online. lazy teacher, but nice woman personally. didn't really learn much through this class. ended class early a lot .

Extremely smart professor who displays her passion for not only the field of Psychology, but for student learning. I have always felt that she looks beyond systemic approaches, and brings learning to a unique level to maintain student interest. I found her to be extremely fair and always approachable if you needed further help.

I definitely would not say she is the best prof at FSU but in fairness the class I took was online. If you do the work you will do okay but if the class is online watch out for those tests. Her questions are vague and often lend themselves to two+ correct answers. If you prove this to her, do not expect to gain credit.

I took a Human Sexuality hybrid class with her. Very nice and hilarious. She is very understanding too. We had maybe 4 class times all semester and the rest online. Chapter quizzes, assignments once in a while and discussion board questions. Manage your time and you will do well.

I took Human Sexuality with her on-line this past summer and it was a great class. There was a good amount of work but it was straight forward and fairly easy. Quizzes weren't bad at all either. I'm taking another course with her this spring. She's awesome!

Okay for a GenEd, but stay away for major classes. She tries to act like she's your friend, but if you have an issue or don't understand something, she'll make you feel like an idiot. She acts like she is FAR better than her students. Class is straight from the text (after she emphasizes that she is not about reading and memorization from texts).
