Dr. Mitchell is an amazing professor! I had 2 classes with her and I am not an English major. I took a literature course with her and she made it interesting. It was challenging but not ridiculously hard. I can't believe the comments on here about her. She is kind, warm hearted, and I will miss her smiling face and southern "good mornin y'all."

Her guidelines are very detailed in the papers. Sometimes what she wants to teach is confusing when she explains it, but her office hours will help. YOU NEED TO ATTEND CLASS. You will miss valuable information if you don't attend. Some classes may be all lecture, but the readings and participation is required, because you may have a quiz.

Don't take this class! She is so rude, and not understanding about what she wants. Ask a question and she will make a rude comment for "not listening". Worst teacher I have ever had! No paper will ever be good enough for her standards. Be ready to be treated like you're an English major. For your sake, GET A DIFFERENT TEACHER!

I WOULD NOT recommend taking this class. She is rude, very unclear about what she wants, tough grader (unless you're a published author your work will never be good enough), and she doesn't except any late work even if you had a valuable excuse to miss class. She leaves comments but her handwriting sucks so you technically get no useful feedback!

She tells you up front it's going to be hard. She means what she says when she says she's willing to help and if you ever need anything her door is open. You just have to get past the way she is in class and go to her office. She's one of my favorites.

Extremely difficult, but you will learn a lot. She seems to expect graduate work done, but if you talk with her, don't complain, and actually make the effort, she'll work with you on it. Expect to read and write a lot. Sometimes her class work load made me slack in my other classes. However, if you have a big paper due, she'll work with you on hers

There's a lot of reading and homework, but I did learn a lot. Granted, I skip class here and there but hers was not one of them, you can't get by if you do. Tests were difficult but if you did the reading you were fine. If you're not a slacker and WANT to learn, than you'll enjoy this class.

Hate this professor, only good if you are an english major, other than that she will confuse you. Lot of work and she expects you to understand the material....you force too or she'll get mad! Very difficult and it hard to schedule time with her due to she only has a limit of time outside class. Overall, don't take this professor!

she doesnt really cover everything in through detail in class but is always willing to help. as long as she knows you are trying then she will help you and practically write your papers for you
