Comment:
Dr. Andrews was my professor at Fordham almost 20 years ago. I continue to appreciate how both the format and content of his courses honed critical thinking skills imparted by the Jesuit Core curriculum-eg. interpreting multiple sources of data, following the money and questioning widely accepted narratives if evidence suggests a hidden agenda.

he is completely boring. very unclear in his assignments. it's a lecture course (little to no comments on the board). expect to dose off every once in a while. some of the books we read were interesting. for a good grade you MUST read.

Analysis of Intl Politics- very intimidating. Just take crazy good notes and write down everything he says, do the readings and you will get an A. Barely did the readings and still got a B.

He is boring, lectures for far too long, is VERY unclear and will completely ruin any interest you have ever had in politics. I DO NOT recommend this professor unless you love being bored to tears.

Easy class, consists of a midterm and a final. I never took notes or came to class, and I got a B+ overall. If you want to learn something, take a different professor, but if you want an easy elective Bruce is your guy.

Easy A, just write down everything hes says and spit it back to him on the midterm and final essay. He goes over readings in class. I actually learned in the two classes I had him with, theres is method to his madness! Unlike other classes where I forget everything I learned after the final...

In class, an incredibly dull lecturer. Does not care one bit about who you are as a student or whether you take him or not. The readings are helpful for the class, if waaay left wing. In the end though, if you like Politics, have read the material and have taken ok notes on his lectures, it is so worth it. Recommend if you WANT to study politics.

Prof. Andrews makes zero attempt to get to know his students, or hear their opinions. I consider myself liberal, but he presents such an unbalanced view of American Politics he borders on being unpatriotic. The readings were interesting (although all extreme left wing) but we didnt even discuss them in class. I would untake this course if I could.

Comment:
Andrews' class acts as a balancing act to the catholic ideology which Fordham preaches. If you take his class and read, and take notes, and understand that he wants you to use the information provided in class and in the readings on papers and on the midterm, final, you will be fine. I received A by doing just that.

Worst professor I have ever had at Fordham. He taught me nothing, assumed I knew nothing, and obviously doesn't even read the final paper. He believes he is trying to "open" students' eyes but it never occurs to him that perhaps we are intelligent beings as well! Steer clear.

Pretty much typifies everything people hate about academics. The man has no knowledge of, nor ineterst in anything outside of his own ludicrous worldview. His lectures are painfully boring. I almost wonder if he's part of a counter-intelligence operation. I came with an open mind and left with an absolute disgust for all things communist.

Had him for intro. to politics. All he does is rant and say things that make no sense. However, only grades are midterm and final paper. But I turned in my final paper and the next day I had a grade so who knows..

I had Andrews for his JFK Assassination class. He offers a unique perspective in viewing American politics. Contrary to what the people below have said, he doesn't want you to regurgitate his views (which he keeps to himself pretty well). As long as you do the readings (of which there are many) and take notes, you'll get a lot from the class.

I got several A's - heres the secret. Your opinion has no value and consider yourself a fool brainwashed by elite republican media. Spit all his extreme opinions back at him verbatim and you will do great. Does not encourage dialogue and forces his tired fringe leftist world view on the students. Its not an alternative view - its his own view

This man deserves a straight jacket and a bottle of tequila. An "alternative" view of politics is putting it lightly. Don't try and understand his logic just write it back to him on the midterm and the final.

- I love you Prof. Andrews! - I took his class as a freshman at Fordham, and I now have my masters degree in an unrelated subject, but I honestly consider Dr. Andrew's class to be the most important of all my Fordham classes. His class was extremely liberating. He taught me how to think.

I have taken all of andrews classes and I love him. He can be repetitive but his are the only polisci classes that I felt didn't teach common sense theories. His tests are easy, as long as you take good notes. PLUS he is a very smart guy. Pay attention and you might see a new side of politics not offered elsewhere at Fordham.

Class had so much potential, but like others said, got really boring really fast b/c we talked about our papers that had no basis in anything, fact or otherwise. Could have written it the night before and gotten the same grade. No help outside of class, made no real effort to know students. Funny, educated man, but a waste of a course, w/o a doubt!
