survey of western political thought-- VERY VERY BORING class, he is very disorganized, gives you a zillion handouts but keep them because they are useful when it comes to the exams. we fell soooooooo behind because he would go off on tangents but overall, his class was super easy and to his credit, he is a very very nice man

He is soo cute, like old man cute. He goes on about irrelevant information and tries to get back to the subject by saying "at any rate" Tests aren't hard he actually puts answers in order and makes it really easy to do good. Was not interested him Government but he made it fun with his random jokes. I would take him if you have to take this course.

He's a good guy, if you're interested in the subject you'll like his rants. He can give a decent amount of work, but you can really get a lot out of the class. Take him if you're a Political Science major and you want to learn.

Caswell really is such a nice guy. Yea sometimes he loopy and i loose track of him when he rambles in class, but he's great. If you care about the subject, then he thinks its great. If you dont, he doesn't carenot in a bad way, he just realizes some people really dont care and need to take the class. Plus, he gives out tootsie pops EVERY class!

He is not bad little disorganize with paper some times. He is easy grader, some time his test are just like reviews. you don't need to buy book for this class, you can find everything thing online or from his handouts. his papers are really annoying but easy. I recomend taking him

Caswell is my favorite professor at Rowan, hands down. You surprisingly learn a lot without it being shoved down your throat. All you have to do is hand in your assignments, and you're practically guaranteed an A. Oh yeah, tootsie pops every class!

Caswell means well and I think in his own mind he feels he challenges students, but in reality he is pretty much the exact opposite. He will fall behind no matter what class you take him for so don't expect to get to everything he assigns. Easy grader and genuinely a nice guy...gives out candy each class and is fun to joke with...Caswell is the man

Professor Caswell is a nut, but he's awesome! He shows up late almost every class, and we were very behind within the second week of classes. There's a lot of outside reading, but you can get away without doing it. There's 5 2 page papers, and 3 exams, with the last one being optional. Hard to sit through, but you'll get by.

Put half the class to sleep most of the time with his speeches but he means well. Do the your essays(easy) and do some of the easy extra credit activities and youll end up with an A. He gives you tootsie pops every class, and gives you the answer to every exam in advance.

Dr. Caswell is such a great guy. He trys his hardest to be on top of infromation and making sure that everything is taught before giving the tests. He is really helpful w/any questions and really knows what he is talking about. Write down everything he says!It will help you soo much when it comes to the papers/tests. lovable and great personality

Totally unorganized, 10 minutes late for each class, never took attendance until the last month of semester. He makes it sound like his course is so hard the first day and it ends up being a joke. (3) 2-page papers, an easy group presentation and a final paper which is really not a paper, it's a list. Take good notes when he teaches for the papers.

Comment:

Interesting class where you can learn if you want to learn. Dr Caswell gives a lot of reading assignments, but not much written work and no real exams. If you want to learn about the origins of political thinking in America, take this class. It is informative and relatively low pressure.
