On the very first day he said "I'm going to assume you already know what we are doing so I won't teach long. If you don't know you need to ask Qs" which shocked me. But, he lectures for the first 15-30 minutes and then for the rest of class you work on the worksheets in groups/individually and when your done you can leave. He will help when you ask

Bruce is a very entertaining instructor however it seems like he can go off on tangents sometime and not stick to the topic he is teaching. He goes over a lot of examples in class, however he sometimes goes through them a little too quick. He isn't really ever around during his office hours, which is troublesome if you are having difficulties.

He definitely gives you a fair chance to pass. Sadly you basically teach yourself the material so make sure to buy the book. He will work with you in or outside of class, but you must ask for the help. Explains exactly what is on the test and basically just changes the numbers of the practice problems. Overall very nice guy, he means well.

Took this class as youth options, so was a bit overwhelmed by college expectations. But Prof. Wade was very thorough, gave many examples (which was great), and had extremely fair tests. I currently go to a top 10 university, but the math professors here are no where as clear and helpful as Prof. Wade. It's not an easy class, but hard work pays off.

This guy was the most pretentious jerk I've ever met. Talks often about how great the schools he attended were and how easy the class he is teaching is (when it's clear people are struggling) I'm not a fan at all. avoid if you don't like spending your class time off topic and listening to how great his education was.

Difficult teacher. Nice guy, but does seem to have his favorites. Makes himself accessable and available to those that need help. He does go off on tangents in class often, which is distracting and gets annoying.

Best math professor I've had at UWM. He was unbelievably helpful. He set up office hours in the Union to be very accessible to students, gave extremely fair tests, did plenty of review in class, and never tried to cram material in. He takes his job seriously and wants his students to succeed. If you can take a class with him, do it.

Horrible professor. Extremely lazy, does not lecture, does not grade homework in a timely manner. Worst professor I have ever taken at UWM. Avoid at all possible costs!

He knows the material very well, but he expects you to try practice problems before he teaches. He goes on tangents about life sometimes, but they're a nice break from calc.

Professor Wade claims to be a "referee of numbers, enforcing the rules".. If that doesn't sum up the lameness of this guy/class, then maybe this will: He is rude, sarcastic, and picks class favorites. If your not an "artistic" math person (what does that even mean?) than forget him being nice to you. Its his way or the highway...

MAKE SURE you buy the textbook, it will be the ONLY thing teaching you. The concept of the class seems cool (come and go as you want, very laid-back), but you basically teach yourself... there are no lectures on how to do anything -- unless you ask. BEWARE.. it can get confusing if your strong point isn't in self-teaching or math.

Prof. Wade was a great teacher at the beginning of the course, but toward the end of the semester, he started to rush through the material...the most difficult material.
