I know many people in my class hated Wagner because he can be opinionated, but if you show up to class, bring the book, and write well, then you should be fine. I didn't do too well will class discussions but still managed to get an A because the papers are heavily weighted. Take this class if you are prepared to do the reading.

DO THE WORK. Hand things in on time, be prepared. He does give out a lot of reading and a lot of assignments, but its manageable. If you do all of the work, you will receive an A. He gives out difficult prompts and asks super vague questions, but if you make an effort, that's all he cares about. Do what you're supposed to do and you'll be fine!

Worst college class so far. If you have the option, avoid Wagner. The class isn't difficult if you actually read the texts and participate in the class discussions, you'll do fine. But it is especially frustrating dealing with Wagner-he asks really vague questions and expects specific answers. He is pompous and very unhelpful if you have a question

Terrible. Worst professor i've ever had by a long shot. Rediculously vague, tells students to choose what to right about, and then grades it on HIS opinion. Never says what you are doing right just wrong, cannot even read his writing on graded papers. Takes it personal when you cannot complete his multiple assignments on the same day and kicksuout

Dr. Wagner is a very nice man. The only thing that bothered me is that his discussions are very vague and you can never understand what he's asking for. But he assigns us very interesting prompts, and I personally enjoy writing papers for his class. There is group work on a weekly basis but they're usually easy tasks. Definitely an easy A!

I read these comments prior to sarting classes, and was terrified. However, this has quickly become my favorite class. Dr. Wagner is tough, I won't dispute that, but he really makes you think. As long as you do some reading and participate in class, I doubt you'll have an issue. He is very approachable, and will ofer help as long as you ask for it.

Attendance is mandatory and it helps you a lot to know what's going on in class. READ the BOOKS! or at least take them to class so he thinks you know what's going on, Participate his grade is based on that. I found it an easy A. You just have to be on his good side and be a critical thinker, compared to other mosaic classes his was easy.

TERRIBLE!To Dr. Wagner, IH is your only class.He expects you to read books in about two days and won't let you comment in discussion unless you cite the exact page and line number.He loves participation but whenever you participate he doesn't respond thus making you feel dumb.Makes you feel terrible about writing ability with very harsh comments.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS TEACHER. His entire class was vague. You never knew what he wanted you to say or do. His critique of papers was useless because he never told you what you did wrong or right. Very rude, insults any education you had prior to his class all the time. I didn't learn a thing from this class. Do not take wagner, you will regret it.

the lectures were basically his opinion.At some points i did enjoy his thoughts about certain areas. I had a huge problem with this class when it came to what he exactly wanted out of students when writting essays. The feedback of my work was never positive and gave no insight on what i should continue to do to improve my paper.

Wagner was the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. I didn't learn a thing from any of his lectures. Most of the time he just screamed at the class. His criticism on papers don't make any sense. Basically he is a single minded teacher and if you don't write basedo n his thoughts you won't get a high grade. AVOID HIM IF YOU CAN!!

okay okay...wagner is tough but you complainers are in COLLEGE. what did you expect to never have to work. I showed to class, did the readings, participated, and I got an A. Thats right and I didn't have to work my butt off, I just had to put a effort in. Tests are open note and he allows re-writes for papers. Nice guy and fair grader--recommended.

I could name many reasons why this man is a terrible teacher, but i only have 350 characters. I am seriously typing this so no other student takes this class. He is a very understanding guy. If you show him that you are trying hard, attend class, and go to him for help, you will most likely pass. He is a very difficult teacher because he is very intelligent..I would reccommend this teacher to students who are passionately interested in what is taught in IH rather than ones who struggle with it

I read all the ratings about the Wag, assuming he really couldn't be as closed-minded as everyone claims. But he's an absolute beast, expect to sit through class listening to his own viewpoints and have any original thought crushed. Then you will have the pleasure of writing terribly vague essays. Avoid at all costs!
