Professor Reiter is extremely knowledgeable about the theory that he teaches. He can be a bit awkward at times but if you're amiable to him he'll be the same for you. His sense of humor really grows on you and is a very fair grader. Lectures aren't mandatory but information outside of the textbook is sometimes used. Highly recommended.

I'm ccurrently finishing up my fourth straight semester with Pr. Reiter (Theory 1-4). Great guy, very amicable to his students. If you don't love this material you might not draw much from his enthusiasm, but if you give it a chance, Reiter teaches the best classes in the music department. Incredibly understanding and encouraging

friendly and wants to help, but doesn't seem to know how. eccentric and silly sometimes. i agree that he gets intimidated by the class. i nodded to show i was paying attention once and he got all flustered. class is really good, but it's sometimes disjointed and awkward. overall recommended; knows his stuff.

Eh. He's a nice guy and he grades fairly, but he can't teach. It's a shame, because he's smart. He also does get intimidated fairly easily.

Burkhardt's only flaws are that he is a tad eccentric and he gets intimidated by the class. Loved him otherwise! Very intelligent. Take his theory sections!

Incredibly nice guy. Recently out of grad school, so sometimes not very confident in his presentation. Easy grader. Really approachable, makes time to help students with material. First A I got in theory!
