Tom Brooks was the best thing that ever happened to the Gordon College Choral Department. I hope some day they will be able to recover this program. That choir and his teaching meant a great deal to me. I hope future generations of Gordon singers will have the chance to experience such quality in music performance at the undergraduate level.

If you're ignorant enough to say you hate professor brooks and that he doesn't care enough about his students, you've simply just never talked to him. A successful choral group requires discipline, and if you're not mature enough to work hard and attend rehearsal, then why would any professor even bother with you? Brooks cares if you care.

I'm sad that people have written such negative comments. Prof. Brooks is one of the best Choral Directors I have seen and he really does care about his students and department. He spends hours upon hours that no one sees of behind the scenes work to improve the music department

Brooks challenged me. Sometimes he is gruff, and can appear to be a jerk. He forced me to give 110%, or not show up. I respect him,and I use the lessons he taught me everytime I take the stage. He truly cares for his students. Touring with him is work, but it is fun. If you don't want to work to become better,don't take him.He wouldn't want u 2.

Frankly, professor Brooks is a jerk. This is not only my opinion, but is shared by many people in the music community, even beyond GC. He does not care about you unless you can be used as a commodity. His primary concern is the image of his music department. Avoid this personn like the plague.
