She is, hands down, one of my favorite professor/teachers I have ever had. She is kind, well-read, and exceptionally wonderful. Creative Writing: Poetry is the the third and final course I have taken with Dr. Norton and I have loved every second of it. If you actually care about the class and work hard, you'll get an A. Take her classes!!!!

Professor Norton is such a sweet lady! She is extremely kind and wants to make sure you succeed. She does not permit any electronic devices in class, and she grades her essay on the tougher side. She won't just give you an A. There is also heavy reading but you can make it through without doing any of it. Book is required to have in class though.

Yes her classes are not easy classes. You will have to read and write A LOT. However, she is one of the nicest people you will meet. She truly cares about her students and simply wants you to succeed. She is super open to feedback and takes time to listen to each and everybody's concerns. She's a genuine soul! Take a class with her!

Wonderful professor! Very relatable and quirky. Class participation is important and so is class attendance. Class is very laid back and relaxed. Very interesting when if you're into English. Professor and class are wonderful

I absolutely adore Dr. Norton. Even when someone said something stupid she did her best to apply it to the lecture. Really respects your opinions. You can tell she loves English and her job. She gives you a lot of range for paper topics (basically you could write on whatever you wanted as long as it connected). I got A's on all my papers.

I took over four classes with her and can tell you that she made me the English professor I am today. Her classes on theory were beyond my reach at the time but I am happy to have had them. She is wonderfully wise, fervent, a writer and a poet. I'll never reach her greatness but I am blessed to have been taught by one of the greats of our time.

I absolutely adore Dr. Norton. She is kind, genius, passionate, and challenges students to improve their close reading and essay writing skills. Getting involved in the reading and class discussion is easy and natural with such a fabulous professor leading the way. Take every class you can with her.

I adore this woman. She is so intelligent and passionate that you can't help but be inspired by her. She's so much fun inside and outside of class, and really challenges you to read deeper and be a better writer. Just do the reading, do the work and be engaged in class and you'll do fine.

I like her. She is a little manipulative as far as teaching, though. I feel like if I don't agree with her I'm in trouble. Raging liberal and trashes Republicans in class, which is rather unnecessary and takes away from lecture. Some of the material we read is super boring. I like her better when I'm just talking to her one on one.
