Dr. E. has to be one of the best professors here. She's intense and kind of scary, but she works so hard and she respects her students. She cares about her students; she'll be the first to ask you how you're doing or be concerned for you. She's a no b.s. kind of lady.

Dr. Epright is literally my favorite professor ever. I am a health science major but took her philosophy class for my UQ and I recommend it 100/10. She is very clear about what she expects from you and she treats you like an actual college student rather than a high school student. She is also super understanding and caring and gives great feedback

Dr. E is one of the most caring profs ever. She will go out of her way to help you learn, if you want to. She loves her students, teaching, and all the subjects she teaches. She is shockingly smart. Best teacher I ever had, I would have majored if I hadn't taken her class so late.

Dr. Epright is amazingly intelligent and frightening. But seriously, just take a class with her. She grades very harshly and takes a long time to grade, but being in class is well worth it. We talked about real life issues and politics and ethics, and just take the class. Just do it.

Comment:
Dr. Epright is unbelievably, terrifyingly intelligent, yet she is patient and caring and dedicated to her students. She knows infinitely more than you do, but will be just tough enough on you to make you work hard but be able to find the answers for yourself. The lectures can be dull (I mean, it's Plato), but her discussions are life-changing.

Epright is the most over qualified/knowledgeable professor ever. All the courses she teach matter to her, so don't take this to slack off. Best teacher I have ever had and I have learned so much. It is not easy but it is worth it. I am from very far away and when I was in the ER she offered me any help or assistance that I needed. Much love Dr. E

I've disagreed with her and gotten good grades and agreed and got bad ones. You have to write well, whatever your opinion. If you don't want to know what a teacher thinks, don't take a class with an expert. She is obviously an expert in her field with tons of experience. Her lectures are awesome and classes are fun. You will learn a lot from her.

Great person and offers the best courses. However, you'll only get a good grade if you agree with what she says. Grades very hard, but gives good feedback and is more than willing to help you. A majority of the class is discussion and she expects each student to present, so do not take if you don't like speaking in class.

It doesn't get better than this. I would take this class again if I could. She is insanely overqualified to teach here, she has done so many interesting things and gives real examples. Calling her the best teacher at Furman doesn't even cover it.

Dr. Epright is a wonderful, wonderful teacher. The take-home exams are definitely not easy, but if you pay attention to the examples and descriptions she gives in class you shouldn't have too much trouble. Really makes you think hard and I loved it so much I'm now a philosophy major!

i took as a GER but always went because it was fun and interesting. she uses lots of examples from work she does in medicine. She is funny and smart. Lots of papers but thats true of any philosophy class. Take her if you want to know how philosophy relates to the real world. Never boring.

All the things that others have said are true, she is funny and brilliant and interesting. But the best part is that she doesn't play games. You have to work hard but she is not trying to trick you. You have to write a lot. Classes are discussion based and she uses real life examples. She likes science and actually knows what she is talking about.

One of the best professors I've ever had. She's incredibly intelligent and very funny. I actually looked forward to class because of the discussions. There was a lot of work, all in the form of papers, but it was absolutely worth it! Eight papers throughout the semester: 5 w/ 3pg. min, 2 w/ 5pg. min, and 1 w/ 12 pg. min. Take this class! Loved it!

Dr. Epright is a brilliant professor and a genuinely caring person. She can be a tough grader on papers and presentations, but the effort you put into her classes are well worth it! I always looked forward to going to her class because the discussions (which constituted a majority of the class time) were always interesting.

Her "Medicine, Morality, and Culture" seminar was my favorite class this semester. She grades really hard and isn't always clear about what she wants in the papers. But I liked this class because it made me think. The class discussions, the paper topics, and even her lectures made me question the world around me. I highly reccomend this class.

She really makes sure you read the texts and she highly promotes critical thinking. Her tests are fairly straightforward. Her pop quizzes can be a good GPA booster if you listen and take notes. She likes to befriend with her students.
