Dr. DiBiase is one of the BEST professors I've had. He's so knowledgeable and passionate about his topics. His classes make you read, and his tests are essay heavy, but he gives you a good idea of the prompts beforehand. If you listen and take notes during his lectures, you'll be fine. I've had him multiple times and never worried about his class.

I would not take his class if you have a different option. He tests were nothing on the material discussed in class. If you have to take him just be sure to read the material very closely. Also don't be caught on your phone, you will be asked to leave.

I highly recommend not taking his class. The entire class period is completely irrelevant to what is actually on the test. He is never specific in what he wants. I am an English person, and this class was extremely hard to me. If you're wondering what his tests are like they're abstract questions and ideas that were never once mentioned in class.

Love Dr. Di Biase. His voice is so soothing, and his lectures sound like the perfect audiobook. (He's also kind of attractive...). He keeps things interesting, always adding some sort of humor to his lectures. He can seem a bit intimidating because he's so intelligent, but he's very easy to talk to. Show respect, and he'll do the same.

I learned more in this class than I did in my entire public school career. I didn't understand the fundamentals of grammar until I took this class. He makes it very easy to understand. He is easily one of the smartest people I've ever encountered. Majority of the grades are from 1 to 2 page in class essays & he grades tougher on those.

I am not a good writer. I made a B in his course. Take notes on the different sentence sructures, he will allow you o use those and ask questions before the Essay. You are graded on participation and on five essays. You should attend class if not you will be dropped a letter grade after three absences.

Cool professor. Very well spoken and dresses like Pep Guardiola. His voice sounds like the kind you'd want for your car GPS system. My writing improved tremendously after taking his class. Put your phone on silent and put it in your pocket. I recommend taking Dr. DiBiase. He's a really cool guy and an excellent professor.

This professor has a lovely talking voice and sounds like a movie narrator so he's easy to listen to. Very passionate about literature and learning. Sometimes gets off subject, long lectures, very helpful and genuinely cares about students. If you go to class, you'll do well. Thought I was doing bad, came out with a high B. Tests are open book.

I always looked forward to his class. If you're not a good writer when you enter class, you will be when you leave. If you make some mistakes in your assignments he will help you instead of criticizing you and being arrogant about it. He gives constructive criticism because he wants you to become a better writer.

Professor DiBiase was one of the best English teachers I had at JSU. My writing abilities improved greatly because of him. He teaches you to be very expressive with your own writing. He pays attention to all of his students and actually wants to get to know you as a person. He had a cool coffee machine in his office and will invite you in for a cup

Probably the best professor I have at Uni level. He's very clear about what he expects on his tests. Tests were mostly essay based. TF pop quizzes on the reading. I loved listening to his lectures, very passionate, this guy knows his stuff. Read the material and get a lot out of this class.

If you want to be challenged than this is your teacher to take! He is EXTREMELY hard... but that can only help you in the end, right? He always has an open door policy at least. He is HARD to give an A, so when you make one hang it on the fridge! I worked VERY hard and thank God ended up w an A. It took A LOT of studying and work.

Comment:

Easily the most naunced and insightful English professor I've ever had. Has a lot of knowledge, but doesn't show off or belittle. Professional and quiet, but personable. Very soothing. I found his tests pretty difficult, but there are helps built into his grading system to ease the blow. Could not recommend him any higher.
