I know accounting is dry but Carol Brown makes it unbearable. If she didn't go off in tangents/waste class time, lectures could be 1 hour instead of 2. When you go in for extra help she sits there and makes you feel extra dumb about the question you're asking. Do NOT take it from her.

i have to admit, this is one of those classes where the material puts such a bad taste in your mouth, you sometimes blame it on the prof instead. but i really began to like her, and by the end of the term, as hard as the class was, i was sad for it to end. she has been the best, most professional professor i've come across in my 4 yrs at OSU!!

Take with Carol. She does weekly exams and offers random extra credit opportunities... all lectures are online and her lectures follow them exactly. She does do many examples in class but again you can find that online as well. While the class IS difficult she is very into what she teaches and really wants you to succeed.

Atrocious lecturer. Reads from slides provided by the textbook manufacturer, does HORRIBLY LONG examples on the overhead. A lot of material is shoved down your throat in a short amount of time. Tests every other classes instead of midterms. To her credit, she does give small extra credit opportunities, but these are two rare to count on.

No midterm, instead gives chapter tests (an easy 10 question quiz) every other day in class. Powerpoint notes, handouts (with answers), and practice chapter tests (almost identical to the actual tests) are posted online. Gives out EC bonus pts for showing up. Extremely easy, and very boring if you actually go.

Extremely unorganized! I found it very very difficult to be attentive in her lectures. She clearly knows accounting, but bring an eraser she'll cross out her numbers 3 times before finally writing down the right one.

I was frustrated during the class (I took it summer term), but at the end she leaves me with no complaints... she recognizes those that try hard, and will try to work with everyone to get them the grade they are goin for... might up your grade if you have all the homework in!

This teacher is a very nice person, and explains things that are difficult to people in a way that is easy to understand. She is kind of boring to listen to, but that is because the subject is so boring. Her class is the right amount of work, and the right difficulty level. She is a good teacher.

In class examples help with understanding problems. Do homework problems at end of chapters before exams. Helps a lot! She said quiz every class, but we have only had one this whole term. Curves on all exams if not one got 100%. Not a bad class, but not an easy A.
