Comment:

She is an absent professor. Power points have little info and doesn't always post lecture videos to supplement the vague material, so you're mostly self taught from reading the book. She changes the content of the assignments without warning, so don't pre print out your assignments. Tests are difficult. Too much work for a 2 credit class.

Comment:

Very kind teacher and very fair. Awesome professor and hope to have her again. The gerontology class in its self is a snore, but Carol is great. Very easy class to pass.

The syllabus is incongruent with what she says in regards to assignments. Things that she expects are not listed in the syllabus nor grading rubrics. She makes a phenomenal teacher b/c she is very knowledgeable on the topic however the topic is dull and her syllabus and grading instructions don't match her expectations.

I took it at school and found I already know most of what she lectures about. Luckily, class attendance doesn't effect grades. I never bought the book.Paper instructions are clear and test questions are very straight-forward.

Comment:

Carol is one of the most knowledgable professors that I have had so far in my nursing classes. She makes the information personal and informative. You WANT to listen to the information even after the class is over. Carol can never retire from teaching nursing. She was an awesome instructor!

Carol is a very good teacher. She is hard but not impossible. There is no "test type" to figure out-just know the material and it's not a problem. Only used class book and Patho book and was perfectly fine.

Carol knows exactly what she is doing. I think she just has a hard time explaining simply enough for everyone else to understand. You really do have to read from like 8 sources to pass a test. Evrytime you think you've figured out the test type she changes. Very Very hard but also upfront

She is really interesting to listen to in class and she is really smart but her exams are really tough. You have to read like from 8 sources just to get the entire picture of what is going on. Get many books and you will be fine.

Very knowledgeable. Requires you to be responsible for the content. Patients don't want a stupid person taking care of them. No one hands you the information when your in a patient room in a crisis.

Will someone fire this woman. Why switch to a new textbook when all you plan to do is teach from the big one??? Professorless is right! Lectures were interesting but exams were so effortless - on her part. Test pool questions + diluted lecture

Higgins may be an excellent nurse, but she is an horrendous instructor. Learning objectives did not accurately coincide with test questions. Instructor apathetic to student concerns. I pray nursing school will not be like this class.

I took the class online and she was not very helpful. The tests were 100 questions and she only gave 1 hour to take the test. There were several e-mails sent to her about extending the time and she refused. That is not even 1 min a question!
