Carol is very knowledgeable, and she facilitates the class discussions really well. There is a lot of reading to do and the workload is considerable, but she mixes the topics up a lot to keep things interesting. For example, there is a theme to every week and sometimes you watch documentaries outside of class.

She's not an easy professor, but you do learn. I've had her for several classes, and while I was really really tired of reading PDF's by the end of the semester, but I enjoyed the class discussions. She's really smart, and the conversation can be really great if you're interested in the topic.

well, after finishing the class I couldn'te tell you what the point of it was or what it was even about. I could tell you how much I didn't learn and how the reading was complete crap. I got an A in the end, all you have to do is the study guides for the tests and write as much as possible and hope that you get the right answer.

all i have to say is DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! the most boring teacher ever, lectures are pointless and expects you to read like 4 chapters a night. Her tests are insane, having to write tons and tons, and then she doesn't even give you full credit unless u write something exactly how she would. ****ty that this is a requited class

She's really smart but has no teaching ability, let me repeat that... she has NO TEACHING ABILITY!!! Just do the insane amount of reading. The tests are imposible, she writes them like this is our major, she doesn't care if you have a good idea of what something is, but she wants you to be an expert on every topic. NEVER TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you like to read, there have been like 5 chapters of reading a week so far. Her lectures are so boring, and then her tests are all of the reading, I don't know why I even go to class, I should just show up for the tests and quizes. She can't teach and expects way to much on her tests.

first of all, when i still cared about the class i wrote her an e-mail to talk with her about how the class was going and what i need to do to improve. She completely blew me off and told me talk to the TA who told me he had no idea what was going on. She totally sucks and is one of the worst at TECH. She teaches about as good as she looks.

Complete waste of time and money. Too bad its required. Saying this class is taught with some bias is like saying Fox News is conservative. Having Carol teach this class is a lot like taking a women's study course from a guy: she doesn't know squat about the subject material.
