I actually did better than I expected. She made learning Spanish fun and interesting. She offers plenty of extra credit and is always available during office hours. Participation is important, so if you're not the type of person who likes to speak in class, you' re gonna have to get over it. The class was an easy A, you only fail if you do not try!

she is so great. gives so much extra credit. lectures are very interactive which helps you learn so much. you def need the book. online assignments are an easy A. She is very funny and amusing. no paper but two orals (45 sec) which you can stay seated in your chair which was so great. she does call on you but this only helps you learn. i love her.

She is a great teacher and is willing to help. Definitely need the book and the code for online homework. Her tests are kind of hard but if you study, you'll do fine. I've gotten high B's and A's. There are two oral presentations but it's not that big of a deal.

Dr. Bown is such an inspirational, intelligent woman. She genuinely wants all her students to succeed. Dr. Bown taught me that learning a language is more than just knowing how to speak, but it is equally important to know and understand the culture. The workload can be tedious, but manageable if time is budgeted properly. Participation matters!

Bown is one of the most influential teachers on this campus. She truly cares about her students and would like for them to succeed in life. I've taken her for many classes and have been to her office hours many times. You do have to put work into her class, however she gives many chances for extra credit or redos. LOVE HER, TAKE HER WHEN YOU CAN

Professor Bown is really willing to help you with any and all assignments. She also has peer review sessions which is very helpful. Her discussions for the 313 class were interesting, insightful and she creates a comfortable environment. Her accent is realistic and helps you get used to understanding native speakers

Professor Bown is a great professor, I took her Spanish for Business class in 2009 and I use the skill sets (and Spanish!) I learned in her class all the time. I now own a worldwide software development company where I deal with international business everyday. She knows what she is talking about and I can't recommend her enough.

i took the Spanish for billinguals class: 3 papers, 2 tests, a final paper, and a few homework assignments out of the cuaderno and readings. it is a decent amount of work, but it is not hard at all. the class is discussion based. she's an amazing, funny teacher with a lot of insight about the spanish culture.
