Had the immense pleasure of taking senior seminar and a civil rights class with Dr. Williams. Engaged instructor and interested in students. Not an "easy A" class, but she grades fairly and tries to create a dialog in class. Lots of reading and paper writing -- it's a history class! It was a true pleasure to be in her class.

Dr. Williams is a classic history professor educated in the classic style. My undergraduate degree is in education and I recognize a good teacher when I have one. Her pedagogical skills are first rate. Students in her classes can disagree with her and still get an "A". Most of the other history professors at UNF could use to learn that. Great

Ms. Williams is a good teacher. My big problem with her is that she assigns WAY too much reading. I had her for 2 classes last semester which added up to 14 books and she expects you to read them all. I thought it would be better if she just assigned important chapters. Go to class and you should have an idea of which terms she'll use on the test.

Every class she teaches, no matter what the course is called, is about civil rights. She disregards the fact that shes supposed to be unbiased and teaches purely on her own agenda. She grades mostly on her views of you, and not your papers. I wouldnt take her if you didnt have to.

Regarding the previous review of her class on the Civil Rights Movement -- of course she talked! Those are called lectures! She is a brilliant woman with an engaging style. The texts we read were awesome. And if she's picky on exams, it's only to encourage us to dig deeper into the material. I'm switching minors to take more of her classes.

She is a good teacher, but very picky about details on quizzes and exams. Textbook use is highly recommended because it correlates to the in-class discussions and exams. She is very knowledgeable in American History.

She is a nice person, but not the best teacher. If I didn?t have history of the new south the same semester I would learn little about the civil rights movement. Her grading scale is skewed and all she does is talk, talk, talk. No notes, no direction, no constituency, and her grading scale is skewed. Take her if you have to, or if you want slack te

My second class with Dr. Williams and I still love her. She's an awesome teacher that's very willing to help, all ya gotta do is ask!! Prepare for LOTS of reading, but its a senior seminar so thats understandable. Her classes are very relaxed. Make sure to talk and she'll remember you're name when she's grading ID quizzes!

She is an extremely knowledgeable woman and she does an excellent job explain the subject matter clearly and concisely. Her classes can be an easy A if you put in the work. There is a lot of reading, but the tests are straightforward and simple. Take her class if you need FC credits or if you're a history major/minor.

Great prof. Second time I have taken her and hope to take one of her seminars. ID quizzes, Midterm and Final were essays, but she gives you the essay prompts a week in advance to prepare. Assigns a lot of reading but you can skim it if you take good notes in class. She always goes over absolutely everything she will test you on. Awesome!

This is the kind of professor students are grateful they met. She shared so much knowledge about public history and Jacksonville. She is a real class act. She is the kind of professor I want to be when I grow up, enough said.

There were 4 books, we used them all. She asks you to do a lot of reading but if you come to class and take notes you can just use the books for references. 3 ID quizzes, some short answer responses for certain words. She tells you exactly what she wants you to write - you just have to take notes/study. Midterm,Final the same but longer. Great prof

She knows her stuff, but assigns too much reading of which you won't need to do. She tells you exactly what is on the exam a week in advance and give lots of extra credit for the class. easy A.

okay i'm completely confused. she knows what she is talking about but has NO and i mean NO organization or teaching process. We kinda just talk. She assigns a TON of reading, but honestly it's not really needed. I took Southern Politics at the same time, thankfully, so i actually know what happend. She's super nice and its an easy class though!

She knows her stuff & relays it well. There is a lot of reading & most is unnecessary. Her tests are fairly easy. She will help students when they ask for it. She will allow you to make up a missed class by making you write a small essay on assigned reading. I did learn a lot from her course.

Ms. Williams is an extremely nice woman and obviously knows her subject, but she assigns WAY WAY WAY too much reading, most of which is unecessary. No normal human being can possibly read everything she assigns. I gave up and simply looked up the terms she gave out before exams.

Good class but she has you buy too many textbooks...I spent a LOT of money and we only read 1 article out of a book that cost me $40..that is not right...too many disparate books...if you don't mind spending extra money on books you never really use ...then I recommend this class
