I'm telling you from the start that she is not easy. She is an amazing professor that will show you first hand what is expected of you and what the counseling process is about. The role plays are vital to the entire learning experience. Grading can be a little tricky, but overall it's worth it. Only take her class if you actually care about it.

Dr. Sanchez run a very demanding class. She does not come off as very approachable and her grading and attitude is very discouraging.

Honestly, this course is extremely difficult and if you cannot feel comfortable with Dr. Sanchez then I suggest you drop. If you do not communicate with her appropriately, it makes the course very, very stressful. She clear with what she wants and expects. I would only suggest this course to students who are serious about human services.

She hardly teaches anything. Her "lessons" are rushed and sometimes contradicting. Most of the class is role plays that are either hard or pointless - self teach yourself. Research paper for a midterm and 10 page reaction paper for the final. Talks to you like she cares, but don't trust anything she says. Overall, waste of my time and money.

Sanchez, is crystal clear with her expectations. However, you will leave this class with lack of knowledge. Sanchez speaks more about her PhD than she does providing students with a great learning opportunity. Skip this class, you will only learn from the textbook which you can do on your own. Take another professor who you can actually learn from!

terrible.not only did we not do anything in this class and it was a waste of money and time but she leaves everything in the hands of a bunch of 20 yr olds who are just power hungry & don't know what they're doing

Great professor! Obviously those who have nothing to say just expect a professor who is easy. She is very professional and I learned so much from her class. Last comment about her TA doing all the work umm well she had to take charge in the csl dept cuz the head person was out. Best professor at jjay and all she taught will be handy in the furture

Will NOT stop speaking about her PhD.Congratulations to her, now worry about teaching the class and stop speaking about yourself. She acts like she cares, but I dont know how true this may be. In regards to the work done in class, there is much more you can LEARN. Some of the assignments feel like they are given "just because".Be a kiss ass = A

Definitely wants students to adapt her point of view about DOs and DONTs of counseling, but other than that, she's a great professor. A lot of challenging work, but worth it

Carrie's classes and supervision provided me with the foundation and inspiration to continue on to graduate school and become a forensic psychologist. The work was appropriately demanding, and completely prepared me for graduate school. Highly recommended to anyone who plans to work in the mental health field. Best professor I've ever had. Ever.

She is a really good prof. The class isn't that bad, you have to do weekly journals, reaction papers, and two big papers (10 pg.) You will really get to know who YOU are though. It's a lot of self exploration. You won't regret it.
