Absolutely the WORST professor I have ever taken. Not only is he a mediocre lecturer who mumbles, he expected far too much for a 2-unit course and didn't mind letting half his class drop with a W. If you ask him a basic question, he'll question your intelligence. Skips slides during class & expects you to have a deep understanding of the material.

Greatest professor ever! Emphasis on language and fundamental concepts rather than tests and formulas. That paradigm shift in teaching EE has helped me greatly in the industry. Concepts truly are king in this field and Yang provides a solid base for success in EE and beyond.

Lectures are kind of boring but i wasnt very interested in the topic. Tests were relatively easy and Cary was there for questions before tests. Go to office hours and your sure to get a good grade.

Horrible trickster. Mentors you, advises not to drop. Grades from 80 to 40 so no curve based on class. Hands out D's to half the class. Tests are impossible. Do not take! Please, help yourself and wait a quarter

Dear lord. Do NOT take ELEN 50 if Yang is the professor. He mumbles, stands in front of his notes, explains nothing, and will make your experience with circuits a living hell. I mean it. Don't take his class. The only reason he's still at the university is his accomplished resume (that doesn't mean he can teach).

He's evil, knows it, and enjoys it. Homework is more of a waste of time on _needlessly_ complicated questions than valuable learning experience. He expects students to solve complicated problems in minutes. But the few questions I had for him, he disgarded as "beyond the scope of this course" (profspeak for "I don't know")

Dr. Yang tried to expose the material as clearly as possible. His homework and teaching style focuses on learning the fundamentals necessary to succeed in later courses and in industry. Overall he is good. Keep him.

Somethings he may be clear on, but immediately after the class you block everything out like a bad dream. I will be in therapy for years because of this guy. He gets off on putting students down. Pathetic!

His method of teaching is terrible. He goes around the class asking everyone questions in order. You may know the answer to most of everyone elses questions but if you get yours wrong he thinks your stupid! Honestly! Worst Professor ever. Fire Him please!

Yang is a terrible prof;period. His teaching style leaves everything to be desired. The negative classroom atmosphere makes learing harder than the material should be.An overload of work takes away from learing the material effectivly.Avoid at all costs.

Not a good lecturer. Outside of class he seems nice but in class he won't hesitate to ridicule anyone for asking questions. I lost respect for him early on and sadly ended up learning little in a very important prereq class in the curriculum. Avoid him i

he is the worst professor on earth. only about half of his class, at best, survived the quarter to make it to the final. he seems offended by the fact that his students are not as smart as him and don't already know what he is supposedly teaching.

He must think his students are all as smart as he is. Or he just wants them all to fail. This class took about 30 hours a week of study/homework, and I got a C-, even after feeling I had a grasp on the material. Which was VERY hard. UNFORGIVABLE!!!!
